Authorities Are Looking For The Footage From When Scottie Morris Went Missing
Scottie Morris, 14, has been gone for about a week, and police in Eaton, Indiana suspect he ran away. However, authorities in Eaton, Indiana are looking for surveillance footage from the week that Scottie Morris was reported missing, as reported by Fox News.
Eaton is located 76 miles northeast of Indianapolis, and WRTV reported that locals there were tying green ribbons to streetlamps and power polls in Morris’ honor.
Alivia Hirst, a teenage girl who went by to help tie ribbons, told the outlet that the situation was “sort of sad” and that she hoped he would be found safe. She said, “Scottie, come home. Your parents miss you. They want you home, safe.”
“We’ve experienced some tragedies, but nothing like a missing child,” Meghan Deckman said as she tied ribbons for the missing teen. “To think about what that family is going through, a piece of you is missing when everyone is not under your roof.”
Another woman was quoted as saying, “I hear that he was a really good kid.”
There will also be a candlelight vigil for Morris on Thursday night at Grace and Mercy Church, which is situated at 301 E Harris Street in Eaton. Police have invited the public and emergency personnel to come pray for Scottie’s safe return.
Morris, a White male of 5’4″ and roughly 150 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes, was last seen leaving his Eaton residence at 8:30 p.m. on March 16. “He is considered to be in grave danger and may require medical care,” Indiana State Police wrote in a Silver Alert issued the next day.

The Eaton Police Department’s Chief Jay Turner Confirmed That Morris’s Parents Made Him Wear A Shirt With Demanding Words
Chief Jay Turner of the Eaton Police Department verified that Morris’ parents made him wear a shirt with a message, “I’m a liar,” as a punishment before he disappeared, but he also highlighted that the family is “heartbroken” over his disappearance. According to other reports, the words “I hurt my lil’ brother” were also scrawled on the shirt.
The Eaton, Indiana Police Department announced on Tuesday that they would no longer be accepting volunteer search teams, but that they would still accept assistance from the Indiana Department of Natural Resources in the form of boats, sonar, and dive teams. It also verified that a federal agency was in contact with state and municipal authorities. You can check the official tweet by Rose in which Scottie Morris has been missing for a week.

“This is only to check the areas of water nearby and further search of the river further out of Eaton town limits. Other K-9 Teams will also be utilized today as well,” the department said Tuesday. “Officers are still investigating and working leads as we received them.”
“The search for Scottie Morris HAS NOT BEEN CALLED OFF!” Turner said in a statement Wednesday. “EPD is working side by side with the Indiana State Police, Delaware County Sheriff’s Department, DNR, and National Center for Missing & Exploited Children on this case. Officers are following leads and investigating diligently. The use of Canine teams are still being conducted, therefore we are trying to lessen any interference with their operations.”
On Monday, Felicia Morris, the mother of the teen, made her first public statement.
“Please come home, Scott; I miss you. And I know that you’re frustrated and perplexed, and I worry that you’re fearful of everything that’s happening,” his mom revealed to WTHR. “No one is attempting to frighten you; we’re all just looking for you. There is no need for alarm. Do not ignore the police if they arrive to your home while you are hiding from them. Let me and your dad come and grab you.”
Throughout the course of the weekend, hundreds of volunteers helped in the search. You might also see the official tweet by Chloe below.
