How Mick Foley’s Legacy Would Change Without The Undertaker
Despite being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame and having won the WWE Championship on several times, Mick Foley believes that he would be only regarded as a solid hand in the business without The Undertaker.“I’ll go out of my way to thank him,” he declared on Foley Is Pod.“I like to think I’d be a respected hand.”
Throughout their careers, Foley and Undertaker fought some amazing matches, with the “Hardcore Legend” proving to be a worthy adversary for the “Deadman.” Foley, however, revealed that he had assumed he would only be performing the favors and moving back down the ladder before their meeting at King of the Ring 1996. After saying, “I had to do a double take when he goes over the finish and we were off to the races brother,” he said, “and we were off to the races brother. So, Undertaker, thanks for everything you’ve done for me.”
In the end, Foley used the Mandible Claw to defeat Undertaker at that event, cementing his place in WWE lore forever in the eyes of the company’s diehard fans. As Foley put it, their long-running rivalry was “off to the races” from that point on. Despite Undertaker’s omission of Foley from his Hall of Fame address, the two are on good terms, and Undertaker said Foley and his work will “outlive the test of time.”
