Uncharted Movie Release Date

The original release date for the Uncharted movie was set for 2016, but it’s been postponed multiple times since then. In February 2022, the film will finally rest in peace.
Netflix will be able to stream the film as well. Sony’s theatrical releases, including Uncharted, Venom 2, and Morbius, can now be streamed exclusively on Netflix. Netflix will not release these films in theatres at the same time as they are released on the streaming service, but rather two years after their initial theatrical run.

Uncharted Movie Trailer

A few Uncharted trailers have surfaced online. When Nathan Drake and Mark Wahlberg’s character Sully first meet in the first film, we get to see Tom Holland in action as Drake. Among the game-inspired set pieces is one where Nathan falls from a plane and has to climb cargo to get back inside the plane.

Another teaser trailer for the Uncharted movie has been released by Sony, and it even features Sully, complete with his infamous mustache. The character of Antonio Banderas, who appears to be facing off against both his own family’s history and Drake, also gets a little more fleshed out.

Uncharted Movie Cast

Actor Tom Holland is moving from Spider-Man to Uncharted hero Nathan Drake, playing a younger version of him than in the video games, which is universally adored. Sullivan, a seasoned treasure hunter who serves as a mentor to Drake’s character, is played by Mark Wahlberg. Nathan Drake’s voice actor in the games, Nolan North, has praised the movie’s performance by Tom Holland.

As a fellow treasure hunter, Chloe Frazer was introduced in Uncharted 2: Among Thieves and led the Uncharted: The Lost Legacy spin-off. Truth or Dare’s Sophia Taylor Ali portrays her. A romantic past with Drake is hinted at in the games; could the film reveal what happened between them?

Jaden Newman: Basketball, College, Ranking & Net Worth

The film’s villain, played by Antonio Banderas, will be a major part of the cast. Rumors have it that the Zorro actor’s character is an original creation for the movie, but there is no official confirmation.

Tati Gabrielle, best known for her role in Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, rounds out the main cast as an unspecified third character. Wouldn’t it make sense for her to play journalist Elena Fisher, Drake’s future wife if the two are already working together on Drake’s Fortune? It’s implied that she and Drake’s partnership began when she began documenting Drake’s treasure-hunting exploits in the games. Uncharted: The Lost Legacy likely won’t feature Elena until the end, if at all.

Uncharted Movie Plot

In the case of Uncharted, it’s not a coincidence that the game’s characters are played by actors who are much younger than they appear to be. Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune is a prequel to the Uncharted video game series, but it isn’t necessarily connected to the games themselves (this isn’t canon, in case you care about that sort of thing, so the filmmakers may take this in a different direction by the movie’s end). The movie will be directed by Nathan Fillion.

Official details about the film have been released. “Nathan Drake (Tom Holland) and his wisecracking partner, Victor “Sully” Sullivan (Jason Statham), are introduced in Uncharted, which is based on one of the best-selling and most critically acclaimed video game series of all time (Mark Wahlberg). Nathan’s long-lost brother is on the hunt for “the greatest treasure never found” in a globe-spanning action-adventure epic.”

Recently, Holland has given us a taste of what to expect from the film. ‘I finished Uncharted last year,’ he revealed to Total Film. “It’s me and Mark Wahlberg. A prequel to the Uncharted video game series by Naughty Dog is here.

I portray Nathan Drake in the video game. This film was directed by Ruben Fleischer, and he did an excellent job of it. I’m delighted with the results. Fun, funny, and epic all at the same time. You won’t want to miss out on all the fun. I’ve worked on some of the coolest action sequences in my career. So I’m looking forward to it.”

He also admitted that he had put on weight recently “In an interview with Total Film, Wahlberg described himself as “huge” when describing the role’s mentor figure, Sully, as “timber.” He’s a part of something bigger. Even though I was in excellent physical shape, I was by no means obese.” Covid forced the cancellation of the show a few days later. All I did when we returned to the US was eat and train for five months so that I wouldn’t look like an immature child next to Mark.

Uncharted Movie Director

Several Uncharted directors have worked on the franchise… When it came time to write and direct, American Hustle-helmer David O. Russell was at the helm. During an interview with MTV in 2010 about working with Russell, Wahlberg said that he was excited about the director’s work: “The idea of Robert De Niro as my father and Joe Pesci as my uncle is so out of this world that I can’t even begin to comprehend it. We can all be sure that it won’t be a watered-down version.”

The script was rewritten by Neil Burger, who had previously worked on the 2011 film Limitless before moving on to Silver Linings Playbook. Seth Gordon, who had previously directed Horrible Bosses, was hired in 2014 to replace Ruger, who went on to direct the Divergent films in 2012. After Chris Pratt turned down the role of Nathan Drake, Gordon walked away from the project to take over the direction of the Baywatch films.

Later that year, as part of the infamous Sony leaks, a script written by David Guggenheim surfaced online. Writers were instructed by Wahlberg’s script notes to “make it Drake’s story” rather than one starring Sully and Drake. There were originally three antagonists, but that number was later reduced to two.

Shawn Levy was in charge of Stranger Things by the time the show premiered in 2016, and Dan Trachtenberg replaced him in early 2019. After Trachtenberg’s departure in September, Bumblebee director Travis Knight took over and left in December due to Holland’s filming schedule for Spider-Man 3.

Finally, in 2020, Rubun Fleischer joined the company. Fleischer, the director of both Zombieland and Venom, accomplished what no one else could: he made an Uncharted film.

Taking over from Jonathan Rosenberg and Mark Walker, the final screenplay was penned by the international writing team behind Iron Man and Men in Black, Art Marcum, and Matt Holloway.

Rafe Judkins, who wrote for Agents of Shield and has a writing credit on IMDB, and Joe Carnahan, who wrote for Bad Boys for Life, had previously written numerous other draughts, including one with “four of the biggest, f***in’ craziest action sequences I think I have ever written,” and many others before that.

The Uncharted Movie Will Be a First For Sony

The Uncharted movie will be made by PlayStation Productions, a Sony subsidiary. Uncharted is the studio’s first major theatrical release, following the release of Heavenly Sword and Ratchet & Clank for digital distribution. The Last of Us: The HBO Series is also being produced by PlayStation Productions.
