Trevor Lawrence Injury
Trevor Lawrence, quarterback of the Jacksonville Jaguars, suffered a left knee injury in Sunday’s 37-20 victory over the Indianapolis Colts. Following some speculation about his status, the Jaguars have officially activated the third-year signal-caller for their Week 7 game against the Saints.
Earlier on Thursday, head coach Doug Pederson told ESPN that Lawrence will play based on his pregame exercise. That pregame evaluation appears to have gone well, and Lawrence will now attempt to improve his team’s record to 5-2 on the season.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, Lawrence was labeled as a limited participant in practice and was formally listed as questionable for Thursday. According to ESPN, the quarterback earlier informed reporters that he is “optimistic” about playing this week. “But of course we’ll have to make that decision on Thursday,” he continued.

This season, Lawrence has completed 67 percent of his throws for 1,439 yards, seven touchdowns, and three interceptions. If he is unable to play and the team goes to Beathard, this will be his first substantial action since starting several games for the San Francisco 49ers in 2020. That season, Beathard appeared in six games and completed 63 percent of his passes for 787 yards and six touchdowns.
“I’m going to do everything I can to be out there. I feel a lot better today than I would have thought so I like how I’m progressing,” Lawrence added Tuesday.
