So far, most Marvel shows on Disney+ have served as introductions to new characters or transformations of familiar heroes. For example, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier gave Sam Wilson the Captain America mantle (after a brief stint with John Walker), and WandaVision transformed Wanda into a darker, angrier version of herself (check out Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness to see the direction that went beyond Disney+’s story). Many of the MCU shows are intended to be limited series that serve as a holdover until the next major film.
So far, Loki is the only Marvel show with an official Season 2 renewal, which is likely due to Loki’s distance from the majority of what’s going on in the MCU. Other releases, such as Hawkeye and Moon Knight, have yet to receive an official announcement about whether or not they will return for another season. Of course, Marvel has a plan for the next phase, but they don’t like to reveal too much about it. That leaves Ms Marvel in an interesting situation.
We already know Kamala Khan will appear in The Marvels, the sequel to 2019’s Captain Marvel, but will her character now only appear in movies? Is there a more personal story to be told about the MCU’s first Pakistani-American superhero?

When is The Marvel Season 2 coming out?
The Marvels, where she’ll appear alongside Brie Larson (as Captain Marvel/Carol Danvers) and Teyonah Parris, is the next place we know for sure we’ll see Ms. Marvel/Kamala Khan (as Monica Rambeau). That film will be released in theatres on July 28, 2023, just over a year from now.

Another thing to look forward to in The Marvels? It’s expected to be Nick Fury’s return to the big screen after he anchors Secret Invasion on Disney+ later this year. We have a rule at Men’s Health: there is no such thing as too much Samuel L. Jackson. So this is all very positive news.
Is Ms Marvel Returning For Season 2?
We honestly don’t know. Kamala’s story is more like WandaVision in that we know we’ll see her in an MCU film soon, as opposed to Loki, Hawkeye, or Moon Knight, where we don’t know when or where we’ll see these characters again. So we don’t know if Kamala will get more solo stories on Disney+ or if her arc will be limited to the movies. However, Ms Marvel’s Disney+ language refers to Episode 6 as a “Season Finale” rather than a “Series Finale,” which is encouraging.
What We Know So Far About Stranger Things Season 5 on Netflix!
Kamala returned to her bedroom in the Season 1 finale’s post-credits scene. Her bangle suddenly began to glow, and in an unexpected ist, she and Carol Danvers switched places! We don’t know where Kamala is or how Carol managed to switch places with her, but it’s clear that the show is directly leading into The Marvels, so we’ll have to wait until July 2023 for answers.
No new episodes are likely to air until 2023, and only after The Marvels, which would surely alter Kamala’s storyline in Season 2 of Ms Marvel.
The Marvels Season 2 cast
The Marvels, formerly known as Captain Marvel 2, will star Brie Larson as the former fighter pilot turned superhuman Carol Danvers.
Both Teyonah Parris and Iman Vellani will resume their roles as Monica Rambeau and Kamala Khan, the latter of whom recently debuted on Disney Plus.
Nia DaCosta is returning to the director’s chair for the sequel to her well-received Candyman: The Next Generation.
The Marvels Season 2 plot
To prepare for The Marvels, moviegoers should familiarise themselves with three Disney Plus series: WandaVision, Ms Marvel, and the soon-to-be-released Secret Invasion.
You’ll have to figure out what ties Kamala Khan to Carol Danvers, the personal hero she encountered in the aftermath of the solo series’ post-credits sting.
This year’s WandaVision saw Monica Rambeau get superpowers from the Scarlet Witch, and the blockbuster will continue her story, though the specifics of what she can do have yet to be determined.
Maria Rambeau was Carol’s best friend in Captain Marvel’s first solo film, but she became estranged once Carol gained her superhuman abilities.
Because of Maria’s untimely death from a sort of cancer, which Carol may or may not be aware of, Monica has a deep sense of abandonment toward them as described in WandaVision.
Finally, because both films star Samuel L. Jackson, there has been speculation that the events of Secret Invasion will also play a role in The Marvels.
Because the Skrulls, a shape-shifting alien race, are a crucial part of the Secret Invasion plot, Captain Marvel is the character with the closest personal ties to that race thus far.
