Secret Invasion Release Date

What Is The Release Date For Secret Invasion? A Comprehensive Guide To The New Disney+ Project

“The last time I trusted someone, I lost an eye,” Nick Fury famously declared. It was a fantastic phrase in Captain America: The Winter Soldier until we learned that an alien cat had clawed out his eye in Captain Marvel. It was inserted to highlight how the spymaster and former Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. likes to keep even his closest associates at arm’s length. Intentionally showing that Fury has trust difficulties was probably the point, but those survival skills could come in handy in the future Secret Invasion series.

The shape-shifting aliens that Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and Carol Danvers (Brie Larson) helped years ago in Captain Marvel return to Earth in one of the most mysterious Marvel Cinematic Universe projects to take place on Disney+ so far: Secret Invasion. This is all the information we have so far regarding Marvel’s Secret Invasion.

Does Secret Invasion Have A Trailer?

The Secret Invasion teaser debuted at Comic-Con 2022 behind closed doors in Hall H before making its public debut at Disney’s D23 Expo 2022. Nick Fury makes his triumphant return to Earth in the opening of the teaser, this time with a full grey beard and none of his trademark eye patches.

Check out the posts below for information on when other series will be available:

What follows is Fury conversing with a plethora of familiar and unfamiliar faces. Talos’s human form (which looks like normal Ben Mendelsohn) isn’t the only familiar face to make a surprise appearance; Martin Freeman, who played Agent Everett K. Ross, and Don Cheadle, who played James Rhodes/War Machine, also make cameos. Both Olivia Colman and Emilia Clarke, newcomers to the MCU, make their debuts in this season. You can check out the trailer below.

Despite promising a closer look into the plot, the second Secret Invasion teaser shockingly doesn’t feature any of the nasty Skrulls that fans have come to expect. One thing is for sure: this is going to be a dark espionage spy thriller that is meant to tone down Marvel’s usual sense of humor and could do for Marvel what Andor did for Star Wars in the 2020s.

While on his extended trip away from Earth, Nick Fury is reminded by James Rhodes that he is the most sought man on the globe. Talos, Maria Hill, and Olivia Colman’s character, who we now know to be Agent Sonya Falsworth, are all still on Fury’s side. You can also see the second teaser below.

What’s The Storyline Of Secret Invasion?

The trailers have shown that the show has a far darker tone than anyone anticipated. The show is being marketed as a dark take on the spy genre, complete with aspects of psychological horror and in science fiction.Cobie Smulders said at last year’s D23,  “This is a darker show. We’re going to get deeper into the characters. We’re going to see them in new ways, and it’s going to be an exciting thriller, and you’re never going to know who people are. Are they a Skrull? Are they human? It’s going to be a bit of a guessing game.”

This guaranteed style is a big change from what we’ve seen before in the MCU, and it’s also a big change from how Fury and the Skrulls were portrayed in Captain Marvel.

Smulders reiterated Jackson’s sentiment when discussing where the series currently finds Maria Hill, adding, “I think Maria Hill has really run out of patience.” She and Nick Fury have always been close; since his absence, though, she has been running around putting out fires. This is a great improvement that should finally give us the wicked, crafty aliens from the comics that we’ve been waiting for.

Who Is In The Cast Of Secret Invasion?

Nick Fury, played once again by Samuel L. Jackson, has been in around a dozen MCU movies since the initial end credits scene in the first Iron Man, but this is the first time he will be the lead man of his own story, as revealed by Radio Times.

Ben Mendelsohn, who played a red herring antagonist in Captain Marvel and had a brief cameo at the end of Spider-Man: Far From Home, will return as the amiable Skrull Talos, reuniting Jackson with him. Cobie Smulders plays Maria Hill, Don Cheadle plays James “Rohdey” Rhodes, and Martin Freeman plays Everett K. Ross; all are alums of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Marvel Studios has posted an official tweet which you can check below.
