The Night Agent is based on the same-named novel by Matthew Quirk. Gabriel Basso plays FBI agent Peter Sutherland, who is given a job that is so low-stakes that it’s almost a joke: he has to cover phones in the basement of the White House that almost never ring at night. That is, until one night, when he answers a call that leads him into a whole lot of international intrigue involving a Russian threat and corruption at the highest levels of government
The first season of The Night Agent has already shown in its entirety on Netflix, and its ten episodes tie up the show’s major plot quite neatly by the finale. Still, given streaming competitor Amazon’s success with action shows like The Terminal List and Reacher, it makes sense that Netflix would want to renew The Night Agent for a second season. Who Will Be In The Cast Of Night Agent Season 2?
According to Men’s Health, Agent Peter Sutherland, played by Gabriel Basso, would return. The future role of Luciane Buchanan as Rose Larkin is less certain. Similarly, Hong Chau plays Diane Farr in Season 1, but she has shot to fame since filming concluded on The Night Agent thanks to her roles in critically acclaimed films like The Menu and The Whale, and the upcoming Joy Ride.

Is The Night Agent Season 2 In The Works?
Although The Night Agent only started streaming on March 23, and viewership numbers are a significant factor in selecting whether titles receive more runway, Netflix has not yet decided whether to greenlight a second season of the show.
The Night Agent appears to have been conceived as a limited series, but the same could be said of other prestige TV hits like The White Lotus, Big Little Lies, and Fleabag, all of which were so well received that they brought back the original cast and crew for a second season.
What Can We Expect To Happen In Season 2?
The exploits of FBI agent Peter Sutherland, whether in the White House basement again or elsewhere, would continue in season two of The Night Agent. Although the novel on which the series is based is a complete story in and of itself, the author Matthew Quirk has authored a number of additional books with shady spy storylines that could serve as a source of inspiration for further seasons.
