Goku and Naruto are two of the most well-known characters in the history of manga and anime. Both protagonists have been staples in the hearts of readers for quite some time. While Naruto continues to develop as a ninja, Goku is an extraterrestrial powerhouse who has repeatedly defended Earth. There has been much debate amongst fans of both characters on who would come out on top in a fight between them.
It’s been a long time since the last episode of either Dragon Ball or Naruto. The characters of Goku and Naruto have been popular among fans because they have been able to watch them mature from childhood to adulthood while also participating in several exciting adventures. Over the course of many years, both of them honed their skills to become unrivaled in their respective realms as fighters. Both of these heroes have rescued the world several times, but what would happen if they ever had to battle one other?
A young Naruto was depicted as a slacker in the classroom. His inability to master even the most fundamental ninja skills made him the worst student in his class. The fact that he couldn’t create a clone ninja was particularly disappointing.
Over time, Naruto would hone his abilities. A dedicated student and diligent trainee, he rose through the ranks to become the Hokage of his village and was widely regarded as the best ninja in the entire region. He frequently demonstrates his capacity for development in the heat of battle by developing a winning strategy on the fly.
Goku: Brawn Over Brain
It’s well knowledge that Goku was never the best student in the class and that his lack of intelligence persists into adulthood. Although he isn’t particularly bright, he devotes a lot of time to learning martial arts.
Goku’s strength increases but not his intelligence. When he’s put to the test, he usually responds by putting in a little extra time at the gym, so rather than focus on tactics, he seeks to gain strength. Though physically formidable, Goku rarely makes use of his considerable mental faculties.
Naruto: Konoha Allies
Naruto’s allies are among his most valuable possessions. When it comes to a fight, many individuals have Naruto’s back. Shikamaru is planning something. Sakura can aid Naruto’s recovery. Sasuke is roughly on par with Naruto in terms of strength.
Aside from the help of his comrades, Naruto’s raw strength is incredible. Having friends you can count on is a prominent topic in Naruto, and Naruto’s bond with Sasuke is ultimately what saves him.
Goku: Dragon Team
As a result, Goku has a sizable group of people that have his back. As early as they can remember, he and his best friend, Krillin, have been working out and sparring together. Despite some initial tension, they ended up being close friends.
Goku has several allies in battle, including Bulma, Tien, Piccolo, and Vegeta. They certainly have their advantages, but they don’t seem to improve Goku’s fighting skills. Dissimilar to Naruto’s crew, this one isn’t particularly close-knit or reliable.
Naruto: Jutsu
As a skilled fighter, Naruto can rely on a wide variety of Jutsu. He primarily uses ninjutsu, but his taijutsu skills are extraordinary. From childhood to maturity, he has substantially increased his skills. As an adult, his skills could overcome just about anyone who would stand against him.
His large store of chakra helps him immensely in combat as well. All that vitality can be channeled into devastating ninjutsu blows. His abilities have helped him overcome all the hurdles that have been thrown against him.
Goku: Combat
When fighting, Goku usually resorts to his hands alone. Even though he has the might of ki on his side, he cannot rely on Jutsu.
Goku’s ability to fly is also unique compared to Naruto’s. When fighting, Goku would rely on both his martial arts training and his ki-based attacks. Goku’s fighting prowess is the result of years of hard practice that he began when he was still a young boy.
Naruto: Rasengan
Naruto’s signature move is the Rasengan. The Jutsu was devised by the Fourth Hokage and took him three years to develop. This technique was taught to him by Master Jiraiya. Naruto put up a lot of time and effort to learn the Rasengan, but he was only able to successfully use it after he combined it with his shadow clones.
When Naruto first successfully executed a Rasengan, he was a young child. His mastery of this Jutsu has grown over the years. When it came to the Rasenshuriken, Naruto was able to put his own spin on the Jutsu. Both the Rasengan and Rasenshuriken are useful in combat because they do not necessitate hand signs.
Goku: Kamehameha
Master Roshi taught Goku the Kamehameha technique. Goku’s signature Kamehameha is taught to all of Master Roshi’s students. This was the first instance of an energy attack seen in a Dragon Ball episode.
Developing the Kamehameha took Master Roshi decades of training in martial arts. Goku learns the attack from watching Master Roshi do it, and he uses it on his first try. Kamehameha’s only real drawback is that it takes a while to charge the strike.
Naruto: Sage Mode
Rarely do shinobi achieve the unique mental state known as Sage Mode. Sage Mode may only be attained by harmonizing one’s chakra with the natural energy of the world around them. By entering Sage Mode, one gains access to a wide variety of unique features.
One needs a lot of chakras to enter Sage Mode. The snakes of Ryuchi Cave or the toads of Mount Myoboku are your best bets for learning Sage Mode. There have been multiple moments in combat where Naruto has entered Sage Mode.
Goku: Super Saiyan
The power to transform into a Super Saiyan is an inherited trait of the Saiyan people. Blonde hair and blue eyes are defining characteristics of those who have the uncommon capacity to access power.
After a thousand years of failure, the superhuman skill was reduced to urban myth. Frieza, afraid that the Saiyan tale might be true, is determined to destroy their home world. Goku’s transformation into a Super Saiyan during his battle with Frieza established the veracity of the ability.
Winner: Naruto
Naruto has proven to be the more tactical fighter. His allies would be a formidable force in a battle. Instantaneously, he may muster an army or unleash a barrage of Rasengan. Sage Mode, once activated, would grant him access to even greater potential.
Goku is a proven fighter of incredible skill, and he would give you a run for your money. They both despise defeat and would become fast friends if they weren’t often pitted against each other. But Naruto has shown that he is the superior combatant.
