The Fifth Annual Marine City Comic Con Will Take Place This Year!

On September 10, Marine City will host the annual Comic Con.

The event has been running for five years now. It has been a few years since the last convention because of COVID-19.

Paul Merchant, the convention’s organizer, explained that “Marine City Comic Con” would be a gathering for comic book fans, and that there would be merchants selling various related items. We have comic book stores, as well as artisans selling handmade goods based on comics, pop culture, and anime. Basically, it’s a gathering spot for folks who share interests.

Shopkeeper Merchant manages the Black Guard Reserve within the Mariner Theatre. This year’s celebration is being co-hosted by the Black Guard Reserve and the Mariner.

Merchant noted that there would be a wide variety of vendors, including those who print comic books and authors who have written science fiction. We’re going to be treated to a hypnosis and magic show by a professional magician.

The Portside Rogues, a lightsaber academy based right here in Port Huron, will be putting on a display of their skills in a friendly lightsaber combat for us. The (Southeast Michigan Ghost Hunters Society) will also be there and will give a short presentation on some of the evidence they have collected over the years. There’s a little bit of everything here.”

Balloon artists and photo booth operators from Wonder Wolf Entertainment will also be on hand.

The 2022 gathering will be held in the Harvest Event Center in Marine City, Michigan, between the hours of 10 AM and 4 PM on that day’s designated date.

We’ve held it there before, but this year’s turnout is much more than usual,” Merchant added. We have reached capacity and can no longer accept new vendors. This year, we’ve gone above and beyond to make sure that the event centre has as many vendors as possible, so we can satisfy as many people as possible.

He estimated that around 350 people showed up to the convention the last time it was held at the arena. He claimed that “hundreds and hundreds” of people attended the conference each year for several years, with the most recent gathering taking place in 2019.

However, he cautioned that traders would rather stay indoors if possible because they deal in so much paper.

That’s why we decided to have it at the convention center once again,” he explained. In addition to the usual crowd size, “we’re anticipating above 500 individuals to come through,” the organizers said, “and with the following of some very excellent, solid core groups coming in.”

Merchant claimed that after four successful events, organizers made some changes to make this one an even better “full, fun-packed day.”

“It’s always exciting to see what those folks can come up with in terms of an outfit,” he remarked.
