Former professional boxer and current motivational speaker Sugar Ray Leonard hails from the United States. Leonard, like the original “Sugar Ray” Robinson, is widely regarded as one of the sport’s all-time greats. His 20-year career saw him capture five world titles across three weight categories. He also took home the undisputed welterweight title and three lineal championships.
Leonard and the other three members of the “Fabulous Four” kept boxing intriguing and got fans enthused about the lower weight classes after the popularity of heavier competitors like Muhammad Ali faded. Roberto Duran, Thomas Hearns, and Marvin Hagler were the other four boxers in the group. Leonard was victorious over these three contemporaries, and he was also renowned for his victory over Wilfred Benitez.

On May 17, 1956, in Wilmington, North Carolina, Ray Charles Leonard entered the world. He is currently 66 years old. Ray, who was raised with six siblings, moved to Washington, D.C. with his family at the age of three. His mom chose to honor the late musician Ray Charles by naming him Ray. When Ray was 10 years old, his family finally settled in Palmer Park, Maryland.

The Pacific Palisades neighborhood is rich and beachy, and the mansion, designed in the Florentine style, has a beautiful, vintage atmosphere. The welterweight king and his wife Bernadette Robi put their home on the market with another agent in 2019 for $51.995 million. They dropped the price by $7 million when they relisted it in the fall.
According to Mansion Global, the couple purchased the enormous pink stucco home built in the 1950s in 1993. In the late 1990s, they worked with architect Richard Landry, who is known for making celebrity mansions, to rebuild it in the style of old-world Italian architecture, using imported stone and custom-made wood. Now that their kids have moved out, the sellers want to downsize, the real estate agent says.
The large Los Angeles estate sits on 1.7 acres of private land, the most of which is manicured lawn. There are wings for large-scale gatherings and more intimate quarters for family life. Its indoor-outdoor layout takes use of its peaceful surroundings in the upper Riviera neighborhood of Pacific Palisades. It has many balconies and decks that are accessed by arched glass doors. There are views of the ocean and the Santa Monica Mountains from the mansion.
The rooms in the Italianate mansion have high ceilings with wooden ceiling beams and wrought-iron details. There are also elegant stone fireplaces, columns, floor tiles, and a water fountain in the main hall. The master suite includes a balcony with an ocean view and a bathroom fit for a resort.
Mr. Leonard was the first professional athlete to earn over $100 million in prize money over the course of a 20-year career. During his prime in the 1980s, he won five world titles.
“Sugar Ray” is “one of the great boxers of all time,” and “it’s an honor to represent his family home,” said Aaron Kirman of the Aaron Kirman Group at Christie’s International Real Estate. He continued, saying that the “compound is completely private, yet perfect for entertaining throughout the year.”
The three-story, 16,773-square-foot home features eight bedrooms, fifteen bathrooms, many living areas, and a separate guest house. It covers 1.7 acres.
