Marvel’s Thor and Dragon Ball Z’s Goku are two fictional characters with godlike strength and abilities that are practically incomprehensible to anyone who lives outside their respective comic book and manga worlds. Unfortunately, they will never have the chance to square off in a once-in-a-lifetime fight to the death.
But suppose they did manage it. Suppose Thor himself had the opportunity to strike Goku with his mighty Mjolnir hammer. Or, how about Goku unleashes a Kamehameha Wave, right onto Thor’s arrogant mug? If these two heroes fought to the death, who would win, taking into account their respective skill sets, physical prowess, battlefield savvy, and resolve?

In his current role as All-Father of Asgard and as the keeper of the Odin Force and the Power Cosmic, Thor has reached a new height in his character’s development. Thor is not afraid to put his mighty Uru hammer, Mjolnir, to the test, and he is renowned to command the heavens with lightning strikes. Few would dare challenge this ultimate form of Thor, who can teleport without the Bifrost Bridge, manipulate energy and matter with the Odin Force, and create singularities with the Power Cosmic.
Goku, on the other hand, is a hero who has proven time and time again that he can push himself to and beyond amazing boundaries. Goku has gone beyond the bounds of a fighter in his own universe by testing his immense strength against beings from alternate ones and still coming out on top, not to mention being at the pinnacle of his martial arts game and having any number of tried and true energy blast attacks ready at a moment’s notice
(his Spirit Bomb technique is still extremely effective years down the line). Goku, who is only equaled by other gods when he reaches his ultimate Ultra Instinct form, has a record of victory that is unprecedented in the manga.
This is a fight to the finish, and when the dust settles, only one of the combatants will remain. Although it would be a tough fight, the Super Saiyan God Goku would eventually triumph against Thor. If Goku were to engage Thor in hand-to-hand combat, Thor’s punch or a bone-shattering strike from the hammer known as Mjolnir would undoubtedly leave a noticeable but not overwhelming impression on him.
Thor and Goku would then go to the next level of combat when they would unleash their full arsenals of special attacks and strike at a new degree of power. Thor can now manipulate energy and teleport with relative ease, giving him some skills that are similar to Goku’s. However, Goku has had access to such techniques for much longer than Thor has, giving him a distinct advantage when pitted against him.
Even though this would be one of Goku’s most challenging fights to date, he stands no chance of losing if he activates Ultra Instinct and draws upon his full potential as a fighter on a cosmic scale. Even if Thor’s current strength is his greatest ever seen in his long career as an Avenger, he still has a long way to go before he can match the success Goku has had with his own similar talents.
