Developed by the same team behind the beloved Mass Effect series and the polarising Anthem, Dragon Age: Dreadwolf is the studio’s latest foray into the fantasy genre. They wanted to “try something else,” BioWare said in a blog post announcing Hudson and Darrah’s departure from the firm on December 3, 2020. Both Hudson and Darrah have written blog posts about their time spent at the company.

Dragon Age Dreadwolf Release Date
The most likely release date for Dragon Age: Dreadwolf is late 2023 or early 2024. A summer 2022 update from BioWare says, “While the game won’t be out this year, we’re moving closer to that next adventure.”
A blog post from BioWare in February 2022 said that the new Dragon Age was in the “middle of production,” which may provide a very rough release window. As early as 2015, when executive producer Mark Darrah posted a video of a mysterious red book, fans were given hints that a new Dragon Age game was in the works.
Despite this, it’s unlikely that production reached full swing until several years later. Christian Dailey’s departure is lamented in the aforementioned blog post, which also recalls that he joined the team in 2018.
As early development probably began around that time, we probably won’t see Dragon Age: Dreadwolf until the very end of 2023 if it’s still in the middle of development in February 2022. While that’s a nice thought, I wouldn’t get my hopes up for anything before 2024.

At the end of the trailer, we get a quick glimpse of Sola’s, revealing the design for the Dread Wolf in BioWare’s next game. Despite the recent departures of Casey Hudson and Mark Darrah, two of the game’s major creative drivers, this clip suggests that development is continuing as planned.

There aren’t many visuals or gameplay sequences in the video, but what is there looks incredible. There are also clues that the player would not control a strong and prominent figure like the Inquisitor, but rather a commoner in this universe.
