The protagonist is introduced as a talented but haughty neurosurgeon who loses the use of his hands in a vehicle accident. The accident left him with extensive nerve damage in his hands, and he was advised that no amount of medical treatment or rehabilitation would ever allow him to return to work as a surgeon.
As he struggles to come to terms with this news, he embarks on a quest that eventually brings him to the Ancient One, the Sorcerer Supreme. In the process of becoming his disciple, Strange becomes adept at both the mystical and martial arts.
He moves into a house in Greenwich Village, New York City, known as the Sanctum Sanctorum, and fills it with various magical artifacts, such as the Eye of Agamotto and the Cloak of Levitation. Doctor Strange, aided by his trusted sidekick Wong, becomes the Sorcerer Supreme and fights against supernatural threats to the Earth.
Peter Hooten played the role for the first time in the 1978 TV movie Dr. Strange, marking the beginning of the character’s history in live-action adaptations. The role of Stephen Strange in the MCU has been held by Benedict Cumberbatch since 2016.
The personality of Doctor Strange
Characteristics… haughty and erudite. It has been said of Strange that he is driven by “arrogance, ambition, and stubbornness.” He claims to be in the business of saving lives, yet at times it seems he is just interested in protecting his own.
The biography of Sinister Strange
Like his counterpart on Earth-199999, he lost his younger sister Donna as a youngster when she drowned in a cold lake, and he has never talked about it. After becoming a famous surgeon, he experienced almost the same events as his counterpart on Earth-19999, including falling in love with Christine Palmer, losing the use of his hands, becoming a sorcerer, and fighting Thanos alongside the Avengers in 2018 and 2024.

The personality of Sinister Strange
Some of Doctor Strange’s traits from Earth-199999 remained in Sinister Strange. He has a cynical outlook on life, is full of himself, and thinks that anyone’s life is expendable. Like Doctor Strange, Defender Strange helped America Chavez keep her powers from being taken, thus it’s safe to assume he kept his noble character traits and eagerness to learn and help people in need.
He initially was a grief-stricken guy seeking the love of his life and would do anything to get it, therefore he turned to the Darkhold like most of his other alternate selves because of his passionate love for Christine Palmer. Once corrupted, most of his redeeming qualities were pushed to the back of his mind and replaced by a darker disposition.
He still clearly cares for his sister Donna, since he and Doctor Strange share a reluctance to broach the subject of her death. As his uncertainty and self-loathing deepen, he becomes utterly bitter and vindictive, killing every incarnation of himself he could locate in an effort to end their suffering because he and Christine could never be together. Later, he’d tell Doctor Strange all about it, beaming with pride and feeling absolutely no regret for what he’d done.
His devotion to Christine morphed into an unhealthy fixation, and this further strengthened the Darkhold’s hold over him. Last but not least, Sinister Strange has a sardonic sense of humor, as shown when he told Strange about killing his alternate selves; he is also extremely unhinged and sadistic; whereas every other version of Strange maintains a cool, collected air, Sinister Strange’s demeanor is one of malice and constant agitation.
It’s hinted that Sinister Strange had regret for his deeds and made attempts to rectify them, but that his repeated failures drove him further mad and made him susceptible to the taint of the Darkhold to the point where he no longer felt remorse.
