Auburn Game

Auburn Football Fan Guide for Home Game Against Mississippi State Information!

This year’s SEC West and College Football Playoffs are out of reach after three losses. With three more tough SEC games left, there’s still a lot to play for, though.

When Mississippi State comes to Jordan-Hare Stadium, expect the unexpected. Last week, Texas A&M upset Auburn in College Station, so the Tigers will have their work cut out for them as they try to wrap up the 2021 season with a strong showing.

There are still a few rules in place to help stop the spread of the virus, so be sure to review them below and on Auburn Gameday.

In addition to the 2021 COVID-19 restrictions, here’s what to expect in Auburn on Saturday.

The Game!

TIGER WALK: 9 a.m.

GATES OPEN: 9 a.m.

EAGLE FLIGHT: 10:40 a.m.

KICKOFF: 11 a.m.

TV: ESPN

VENUE: Jordan-Hare Stadium

TICKETS: SOLD OUT

The Tigers lost to Texas A&M last week after winning their previous two games against ranked SEC opponents.

Having only scored three points in a hostile environment against a talented Aggies team, the Bulldogs will look to bounce back against a strong Bulldog offence led by Mike Leach on Saturday.

With only 73 yards rushing and two turnovers, look for Bryan Harsin’s team to improve its ground game and improve ball security this week.

Around 9 a.m., Auburn ROTC Cadets, Midshipmen and student veterans will lead the football team through Tiger Walk.

The “Warthogs” of the A-10 Thunderbolt II will perform the pregame flyover.

During halftime, the Auburn University Marching Band will perform a patriotic tribute to the military, following the retirement of Spirit, Auburn University’s iconic bald eagle.

Those in attendance, both active duty personnel and veterans, will be saluted. During the game, the Auburn University veterans and ROTC cadets will be recognised on numerous occasions.

Tickets / Stadium Capacity

The Mississippi State game is sold out. During the 2021 season, Jordan-Hare Stadium will be able to accommodate its full capacity.

Face-coverings / Distancing

Face coverings (covering the nose and mouth) are required in all Auburn University buildings, per current policy.

Everyone aged two and older should wear face masks in Tiger Transit buses, elevators, the press box, and all indoor premium spaces (while not actively eating or drinking). In terms of a face covering, face shields fall short of the medical standard.

Open-air athletic venues do not require the use of face coverings, but the CDC recommends the use of masks in large gatherings.

Parking & Traffic

The most current parking map can be found right here.

Tiger Transit provides specialised service for fans attending home games. For four hours prior to kickoff, buses run intermittently throughout the game, and for two hours after the game to return fans to their stops.

Due to pre- and post-game traffic, you may experience delays getting to and from all locations. This year Tiger Transit requires face coverings for all riders.

Tiger Transit also makes use of Doublemap/Transfer technology to allow internet and smartphone users to see moving buses and their routes in real time. Find out more.

Auburn asks that fans stay aware of these ongoing construction projects:

  • Wire Rd. and Cox Rd.
  • N. College St. and US 280
  • Farmville Road between N. Donahue and N. College St.
  • Opelika Rd. between N. Dean and East University Dr.

Tailgating

The parking lot of Plainsman Park is where you’ll find Home Plate Tailgate. Tailgating is permitted in the area according to Auburn’s gameday website, which states that the area is open to the public and free of charge.

Live college football games and tailgate games are scheduled to begin four hours before kickoff at the site. Fans will have access to restrooms and shade tents once they arrive at the venue. Attendees can purchase food and beer at the event.

As in previous years, the Tiger Tailgate Show will begin three hours prior to kickoff on the east side of Jordan-Hare Stadium.

The Nichols Center’s Donahue Drive entrance is home to the free pre-game Coke Fan Fest. Among the many features are inflatable games, a live DJ, TVs showing college football games, and much more. The party begins four hours before kickoff.

Tiger Fan Fest

At Donahue Drive, just north of Auburn Arena and Jordan-Hare Stadium, you’ll find the free pregame interactive entertainment area known as the Coca-Cola Tiger Fan Fest. From parents to young children, there’s something for everyone at the Fan Fest event. A live DJ will be spinning tunes as well as children’s inflatable games.

Tiger Walk

In the interest of player safety, the pregame team walk into the stadium will be condensed this fall and include a wider walkthrough area. On home games, two hours prior to kickoff, the team will get out of their coaches’ buses and head to the stadium, where they will enter through the Harbert Recruiting Center.
Both the pre-game and halftime shows will feature the Auburn Marching Band. The pregame show will begin from the south end zone rather than the south centre tunnel in order to avoid crowding in the team areas.

Eagle Flight

The pregame eagle flight will return to Jordan-Hare Stadium this year, according to an announcement from Auburn. Live mascots were previously banned from stadiums and fields by the SEC last season, but that ban is no longer in effect this season.

Auburn will perform its world-famous pregame eagle flight over Jordan-Hare Stadium 20 minutes before kickoff, culminating in a midfield landing.

Spirit, Auburn’s bald eagle, will fly in the stadium for the final time before the game on Saturday. The pregame festivities begin 20 minutes before kickoff.

Toomer’s Corner

On game day, the university asks fans to hold off on rolling the Auburn Oaks and their descendants through Samford Park until next year, even though they are encouraged to do so at Toomer’s Corner.

Stadium Entry / Metal Detectors

Auburn does not require proof of vaccination or proof of a recent negative COVID test to enter Jordan-Hare Stadium this season, despite the fact that they are planning for full capacity. Since Jordan-Hare Stadium is an open-air venue, no face coverings or masks are required, but the CDC still recommends them for large gatherings.

Cracow Monsters Season 2: Renewed + Cancelled?

Fans are urged to arrive early in order to avoid any delays. Prior to kickoff, gates and all stadium services open. Prior to kickoff, pre-game begins.

There will be walkthrough metal detectors by 2021. There will be units at gates 1 and 12 that do not require people to empty their pockets in order for stadium entry to be expedited. There will be express lanes for people without bags at these gates. Those travelling with luggage must go through the next available gate.

Prohibited Items

Non-clear bags, outside food and drink, pets (except service animals), stadium seats with arms, umbrellas, and video cameras are all prohibited from being brought into the stadium (including pocket knives).

Clear Bag Policy

This year’s football season will be the last year that the clear bag policy will be enforced. The stadium encourages visitors to arrive with as few belongings as possible.
Bags must be clear plastic and not exceed 12 inches by 6 inches by 12 inches in size. The stadium may allow clear, resealable one-gallon plastic storage bags and small clutch purses no larger than 4.5 inches by 6.5 inches. Read the entire policy.

Concessions

Jordan-Hare Stadium will use contactless and cashless transactions for all concessions, merchandise, and chairback locations (credit cards only).

By selecting “CONCESSIONS” from the sidebar menu on the Auburn Athletics Official app, fans can bypass long lines and place digital orders for pickup at the stand closest to their location. Orders placed through Mobile Express can be picked up at concession stands behind sections 3, 28, 58, and 106, which will all have designated pick-up windows.
