Ancient Magus' Bride Anime Season 2

The Ancient Magus’ Bride Season 2 Release Date: Mahoutsukai No Yome Season 2 in Spring 2023

The second season of The Ancient Magus’ Bride will premiere in the spring of 2023.

In the second season of Mahoutsukai no Yome, “Child of Thorn” Elias Ainsworth and his magic apprentice Chise Hatori attend university, respectively, as an auditing student and a magic professor. That is, the second season of The Ancient Magus’ Bride will adapt the Gakuin (Academy) arc from the manga. The original cast, including Hino Satoshi (Mikhail Renfred) and Tamura Mutsumi, will be back for the sequel (Alice Swayne). Mahoutsukai no Yome Season 1 will premiere in October to mark the occasion.

The “secret” announcement of Season 2 was made on the official Twitter account on September 5, 2022. Twin Engine, the show’s producers, released a video on YouTube confirming the second season of The Ancient Magus’ Bride would premiere in April 2023.

An announcement for a new Mahoutsukai no Yome OVA anime series, consisting of three OADs, was made on March 9, 2021. It’s been reported that the OAD series will be the “first portion” of the new Ancient Magus’ Bride anime production while the second part was eventually announced as the second season.

New manga volumes often include an Original Animation DVD, often known as an Original Anime Disc, as a bonus in collector’s editions. On June 4, 2021, the first teaser for the upcoming episodes appeared on YouTube. (As of September 30, 2021, the Crunchyroll trailer has replaced this one.)

An OVA anime series based on Mahoutsukai no Yome, comprised of three OAVs, was announced on March 9, 2021. The OAD series has been called the “first portion” of the new Ancient Magus’ Bride anime production, while the second part—the second season—has been confirmed.

Oftentimes, special collector’s editions of newly released manga volumes will come included with an Original Animation DVD, also known as an Original Anime Disc. The first trailer for the next episodes premiered on YouTube on June 4, 2021. (This trailer has been replaced with the Crunchyroll version as of September 30, 2021).

The Ancient Magus’ Bride: The Boy from the West and the Knight of the Blue Storm will be available for international viewing on Crunchyroll beginning in December 2021, the service confirmed on September 28, 2021. The new OAD will be viewable throughout the United States of America, Canada, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, and the countries that make up the Commonwealth of Independent States.

The Wild Hunt served as inspiration for the OAD project’s narrative. Folklore scholars have traced its roots to the United Kingdom and Wales (please see the article in the link for a full explanation).

Ranobe Sugoi, a known leaker of anime news, said that “The Ancient Magus’ Bride will be receiving [a] new Anime project coupled [with] a new OVA series” before the OAD series was officially revealed. It would be fantastic if the latest anime had animation and aesthetics on par with Hollywood blockbusters.

However, it was unclear if this new project would be Season 2 of Mahoutsukai no Yome or a film adaptation of The Ancient Magus’ Bride. But we anticipated back then that an anime TV series was more likely than a movie because of the way the manga’s tale proceeds in the college story arc.

Fans of Japanese animation were horrified to learn that WIT Studio, responsible for the first three seasons of the Attack on Titan anime TV series, will no longer be creating the OVA series (Attack On Titan: The Final Season was produced by Studio MAPPA).

Due to WIT Studio’s busy schedule, relocating to a different location was the best option. Anime adaptations of the Ranking of Kings (Ousama Ranking) manga were also in production in 2021, among titles like Vivy: Fluorite Eye’s Song and Netflix’s Vampire in the Garden. While they continue to adapt manga and light novels, WIT Studio’s leaders have been clear about their preference to create their own original stories whenever possible in recent years.

Why We Predicted the Mahoutsukai No Yome Season 2 Release Date Was in 2023

Studio KAFKA, Twin Engine, Mag Garden, Shochiku, or any entity involved in the production of the anime has not, as of the most recent information available, confirmed the exact release date for Season 2 of The Ancient Magus’ Bride. On September 5, 2022, however, it was reported that a sequel to The Ancient Magus’ Bride will be made.

This post will be updated with additional details after the news has been confirmed.

Volume 18 of the manga adaptation of The Ancient Magus’ Bride is scheduled for release on September 9, 2022, marking the arrival of the last third of the original anime series.

Studio KAFKA’s production schedule is wide open to the public, yet it’s likely they are either already planned or in the process of acquiring new projects.

The Ancient Magus’ Bride Season 2 will premiere in the spring of 2023, as was confirmed in a late-2022 formal announcement about the follow-up anime television series.

The Ancient Magus’ Bride Manga Compared to the Anime

The show’s plot was adapted from Kore Yamazaki’s Mahoutsukai no Yome manga series. Since September 2014, the series has been serialized in Mag Garden’s Monthly Comic Garden, and as of September 2022, Volume 18 has been released.

Traditionally, new volumes have been released twice a year, in March and September. This would put the publication of Volume 19 of The Ancient Magus’ Bride in March 2023.

The creator of The Ancient Magus’ Bride manga stated in an interview with Crunchyroll that she did not intend the conclusion. Because she “never anticipated [her] manga would have any appeal to the broader public,” she originally figured the manga would conclude after only two volumes.

The novel is about Chise and Elias’s journeys, and the author “intended to write a story about personal growth, which children and adults can appreciate.”

I can’t tell if the narrative twists and turns in my thoughts deliberately or if they’re just coming to me as I write. When writing, “I think about the route for myself, and the characters talk to me,” Yamazaki explained.

Other than the main manga, Yamazaki also published two novels in 2017 titled The Ancient Magus’ Bride: The Golden Yarn and The Ancient Magus’ Bride: The Silver Yarn. Various authors, including Fate/Yuichiro Apocrypha’s Higashide and Sorcerous Stabber Orphen’s Yoshinobu Akita, contributed short stories to the collections.

Seven Seas Entertainment is the official North American publisher of the English translation of manga and novels. By April 27, 2021, the English translation of The Ancient Magus’ Bride manga had reached Volume 14. The Golden Yarn and The Silver Yarn both appeared in English in December 2018 and March 2019, respectively.

The Mahoutsukai no Yome manga is what made Yamazaki famous, but she has also written and published the Futari no Renai Shoka manga and the horror drama Frau Faust. The first volume of the manga was completed in 2013; it followed the story of a young bookshop employee who develops feelings for a patron. Faust, the eccentric professor who made a deal with the devil, was the protagonist of a second manga that concluded in 2017.

Ghost and Witch manga (tentative title) is a new series by Yamazaki, first released on September 10, 2021. It was revealed on March 10, 2021.

Manga fans adore it when their favorite series stays true to the original story. Overall, WIT Studio kept the story’s essence while animating several scenes in a style that was faithful to the manga panels.

Those Awaiting a Star, or The Ancient Magus’ Bride, was a kind of prologue to the main story. Yamazaki, an avid reader, wrote the story to celebrate the pleasures of literature.

Chise’s fear of the “sleigh buggy” as a young child was also explored in the first OVA series. The flashback events of this narrative take place after Chise has already moved in with Elias, yet it’s recommended that you watch this OVA between episodes 12 and 13, as episode 13 makes some references to the events of this OVA.

In contrast to the first half of the first season, which stayed loyal to the source material by adapting only Volume 4: Chapter 18, the second cour radically sped up the pacing and skipped to Volume 9.

The manga’s lengthy conversations were reduced to voiceovers in the anime so that the action could move quickly. Some anime scenes would uncomfortably display the actors’ lips moving to the music as a way to quickly convey what was going on.

When Episode 24 of the first season aired, the animation had already surpassed the manga in progress. While most anime viewers despise “anime original endings,” in this case, Yamazaki authored the finale of the first season of the anime herself so that it would (largely) conform to her original vision for the manga.

The song Chise sang during her argument with Cartaphilus is a new addition. The most significant alteration was the addition of a sequence in which Chise reprimanded Elias for what he had done to Stella upon waking, before even berating Ruth and the others.

There is a time jump in the manga series just before Cartaphilus begins sleeping, and it seems that this is where the events in The Ancient Magus’ Bride OVA: The Boy from the West and the Knight of the Blue Storm takes place. That places the short story in the continuity between events in Chapter 45 of the manga and the conclusion of the anime’s first season.

Overall, everything up until the final five pages of Chapter 45 was adapted for the season finale of The Ancient Magus’ Bride, Episode 24.

The best place to leave the story was after Elias and Chise had resolved their main argument and were on their way home together, having agreed to discuss their differences in the future. The manga’s final five pages rushed right into the next major plot point, which centers on Chise’s time in university.

On a positive note, by the time the second OVA series was announced in March 2021, the manga had reached Chapter 78. By March 2022, there will have been 80 chapters, more than enough for a second season of the anime television series based on The Ancient Magus’ Bride.

Even better, if you want to read ahead of the anime and simply read the manga in English, you can start with Volume 10.

The only downside is that if season two is also two courses, then anime fans of The Ancient Magus’ Bride will have to wait another four years for season three.

The Ancient Magus’ Bride Season 2 Anime Tv Spoilers (Plot Summary/synopsis)

A temporary peace may have been achieved by defeating the alchemist Cartaphilus and laying him to rest, but the puppetmaster Ashen Eye is still out there, waiting in the shadows. Chise’s health was also negatively affected by the conflict’s aftermath.

Chise’s human arm is now blackened and tied into normal shape after she sacrificed it to stop the raging dragon. Chise took the dragon’s terrible emotions—fear, rage, and pain—into her own body, giving her new abilities but also condemning her to a future in which the same emptinesses will consume her like cancer.

Having postponed her demise, Chise accepts the dragon’s curse because she, like everyone else, does not know when she will die. In the meantime, Elias’s bride will strive to make the most of her life as he searches for a way to save her.

To begin, Chise follows the advice of the alchemists from Episode 19 and enrolls as an auditing student at the college, a society of alchemists. Underneath the British Library, Chise and Elias meet the school’s new headmistress, Liza Quillain, and a brand-new chapter of their narrative begins. Human children develop their minds and personalities at schools like these, but what about non-human ones?

Chinese, like the anime’s viewers, will have to figure out how to navigate the challenges of college. Attending his lectures as a professor of magecraft, Elias sheds light on the workings of magic and alchemy in this realm. Similarly, Elias’ backstory will be explored.

In addition, viewers of the anime may be astonished to hear that the very cranky one-eyed Cartaphilus occasionally awakens to keep a watch on Chinese. After all, he hasn’t gotten an answer to his inquiry yet… It was also discovered that if Chise were to remove Joseph’s eye, the curse would remain in her own.

A sleigh buggy like Chise is born more frequently than a real mage, and this is made abundantly evident. Because of their frail bodies, most sleigh beggars are used to power sorcery. The college may be able to remove Chise’s curse and better a lot of all sleigh beggars by studying her as a research specimen because she is a sleigh buggy with a dragon’s curse and one of immortality.

There are lessons to be learned both inside and outside of the College for Chise and Elias as they settle into their new positions there. A mishmash of students, the Seven Shields, and the Church… There are secrets to be found in each.

The next episode of The Ancient Magus’ Bride won’t be available to see until Season 2 has been released. Keep checking back for updates! and do follow our site serveupdate.com  we will give you the latest news daily.
