The Book Club Movie Where To Watch

Where To Catch The Original Book Club Film Before The Release Of Sequel?

This weekend sees the release of Book Club: The Next Chapter, the ideal wine parent movie. That means there’s just about a week left to make up for lost time if you haven’t seen the first Book Club film.

Book Club is a film directed by Bill Holderman and starring Diane Keaton, Jane Fonda, Candice Bergen, and Mary Steenburgen as friends whose lives are turned upside down after reading Fifty Shades of Grey in a monthly book club. Holderman co-wrote the script with Erin Simms.

If you think that’s a crazy premise for four A-list Hollywood actors, you’d be spot on. That sums up the entire argument. Boomer women, homosexual guys of Generation X, and others like me will find it to be lighthearted, carefree entertainment.

You probably don’t need to see the first Book Club movie to understand the second one, but you should. Here’s where you can find Book Club (2018) to watch online in its entirety before diving into Book Club 2.

When Will Paramount Plus Start Showing Book Club: The Next Chapter?

Perhaps never! Despite Paramount Pictures’ distribution of the original film in the Book Club franchise, the studio has decided not to release the sequel. Instead, Universal Pictures is managing the international release of Book Club: The Next Chapter, while Focus Features is releasing it in the United States. As a result, if you want to watch Book Club 2, you need head over to Peacock, Universal’s streaming service, rather than Paramount+. You can see the official tweet by Book Club below.

Peacock has not announced when Book Club: The Next Chapter will air, but similar films have aired on the network 45 days after their theatrical debuts, which would put its premiere in the last week of June 2023.
