This weekend sees the release of Book Club: The Next Chapter, the ideal wine parent movie. That means there’s just about a week left to make up for lost time if you haven’t seen the first Book Club film.
Book Club is a film directed by Bill Holderman and starring Diane Keaton, Jane Fonda, Candice Bergen, and Mary Steenburgen as friends whose lives are turned upside down after reading Fifty Shades of Grey in a monthly book club. Holderman co-wrote the script with Erin Simms.
If you think that’s a crazy premise for four A-list Hollywood actors, you’d be spot on. That sums up the entire argument. Boomer women, homosexual guys of Generation X, and others like me will find it to be lighthearted, carefree entertainment.
You probably don’t need to see the first Book Club movie to understand the second one, but you should. Here’s where you can find Book Club (2018) to watch online in its entirety before diving into Book Club 2.
