In an act that has sent shockwaves throughout Turkey, a 26-year-old man slashed his mother’s throat and dumped her severed head on an Istanbul street.
The tragedy occurred on a Sunday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. in the Fevzi Cakmak District of Istanbul’s Bacalar neighborhood.
Ali Sayan repeatedly stabbed his mother Hava, 58, before he severed her head and flung her from the balcony.

The fire was put out and he was hauled into jail by the authorities before he could escape.
