The music of Olivia Rodrigo is ubiquitous at the moment. With her infectious choruses and bridges that make you want to grab a hairbrush and dance around the room, the 19-year-old has completely dominated the music industry.
But Olivia’s success isn’t the only thing going up: the singer has amassed a sizeable fortune since she first began performing professionally.

The massive success of “SOUR”
It comes as no surprise that her musical output contributes significantly to the total.
Remember, “Drivers License” was a huge hit and the first song to reach 1 billion listens on Spotify in 2021. The success Olivia has had is so great that she has even shaken the foundations of Spotify.

As Spotify’s Global Hits Lead Becky Bass put it to Billboard in January 2021, “we’ve never seen something like this,” meaning a fresh artist that starts strong and keeps going from there.
When we saw the first day’s numbers, we were like, “Whoa, these are big!” The following day they were even bigger, and the day after that even bigger still… therefore, this seems and most certainly is completely unprecedented.
According to Spotify’s year-end roundup, the rest of “SOUR” was the most streamed album around the world in 2021.
Orpheus Audio Academy found that the typical payout per stream on Spotify is $0.003. Depending on the country, Apple Music and Deezer, for example, pay between $0.006 and $0.007 per stream. If you multiply that by a billion, you’ve got yourself a tidy sum.
However, several tracks on Olivia’s CD have interpolations. She acknowledged the contributions of Taylor Swift, Jack Antonoff, and St. Vincent, whose work inspired Olivia’s versions of “New Year’s Day” and “Cruel Summer.” Liv also acknowledged that “Misery Business,” a 2007 smash song by Hayley Williams and Joshua Farro, the former guitarist of Paramore, inspired parts of “Good 4 U.”
Olivia disbursed $1.2 million in royalties to Paramore and over $750 thousand to Taylor, Jack, and St. Vincent as a result. However, while this may have an impact on her wealth, it in no way diminishes her accomplishments or the great progress she has made.
After the success of her first album, Olivia received a total of seven (!!) Grammy Award nominations and took home three trophies: Best New Artist, Best Pop Solo Performance, and Best Pop Vocal Album. She has also been honored with several People’s Choice Awards, a Brit Award, an MTV Video Music Award, and several Billboard Music Awards, including being named Billboard’s Woman of the Year. Her award-winning career has only just begun.

Don’t forget merch and the “SOUR” tour
Fans were quick to snap up Olivia’s “SOUR” clothing when it was released. The lyrics and designs from her songs are included on a variety of merchandise, including sweatshirts, jackets, t-shirts, vinyl records, caps, and keychains. If she’s making a lot of money off of it, it wouldn’t surprise us in the least.

At the end of her breakout year in 2021, Olivia publicized a big world tour that would begin in April of the following year. As of December 10th, all 40 dates of the “SOUR” tour, which spanned both North America and Europe, had sold out. The lowest ticket was $68 and the most expensive was $155, as reported by Barry’s Tickets.
In addition to the already sky-high demand for tickets, Olivia’s decision to perform primarily in intimate settings like ballrooms only served to further increase interest in her shows. Due to the high demand for tickets, Ticketmaster’s website experienced some technical difficulties, and many eager fans were forced to wait in vain on digital waitlists. Olivia told the Los Angeles Times, “I don’t think I should skip any steps,” on her decision to forgo headlining huge arenas.
She posted a message on Instagram on December 11 assuring her followers that she would be going on more tour dates in the future.
Her “SOUR” album broke all kinds of streaming records, received numerous awards, and resulted in a massive international tour that sold out in minutes. On Disney+ in March of 2022, you can see Olivia Rodrigo: Driving Home 2 U (A Sour Film). The celebrity took a road journey from Salt Lake City (where she began writing her album) to Los Angeles, and the resulting concert film featured never-before-seen footage, surprise performances, and commentary from the superstar herself.
Olivia is also an actress
And that’s without even mentioning her acting career among her many accomplishments. In 2016, Olivia scored her first major role in the Disney film Bizaardvark, and now in 2019, she plays Nini Salazar-Roberts in High School Musical: The Musical, The Series. As a friendly reminder, Olivia has not returned for Season 4 after demoting herself to a guest role from her regular one in Season 3.
We don’t have an exact figure for Olivia’s earnings from these jobs, but TMZ reports that her previous Bizaardvark co-star, Ethan Wacker, earned $375,000 for the show’s first two seasons, despite Olivia’s more prominent position. Since it has been known that Disney stars earn between $12,000 and $20,000 per episode, we can estimate that her HSM compensation was probably in that ballpark.
She’s landed some $$$ brand deals
In 2017, Liv teamed up with CASETiFY to release a series of phone cases that reflected her signature pop-punk style. Since then, new collections have appeared and are currently on sale, with prices ranging from $48 to $72.
Then, in April of 2022, the multipotent made history by becoming Glossier’s first-ever celebrity face. She has been featured in a number of the brand’s dreamlike advertisements and social media posts.
It’s safe to assume that Olivia is successfully supporting herself, but to what extent? Olivia is reportedly worth $5 million, per Celebrity Net Worth. Nonetheless, this figure has likely grown in the past few months (see all of the above).
In addition, Olivia has returned to the recording studio to concentrate on new music, so fans may expect a new album soon. It’s reasonable to assume she’s had a successful few years and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future.
