The Joker gets a new lease on life, and this time, he seems to be taking things seriously.
DC revealed a new ongoing series called The Joker: The Man Who Stopped Laughing that will premiere in October at San Diego Comic-Con on Friday during its Gotham panel.
The Joker #15 marked the end of James Tynion IV’s story, which is where The Man Who Stopped Laughing picks up. A new creative team, led by writer Matthew Rosenberg and illustrator Carmine Di Giandomenico, is now tackling the Clown Prince of Crime as he terrorises the United States.

Jim Gordon brought the titular bad guy to a safe house in Texas in the final issue of The Joker to gain help in his ongoing battle against the villainous Network. Instead, the Joker attacked him, killed Cressida Clarke, and then fled. He might appear anywhere in The Man Who Stopped Laughing.
DC has also hinted at a fan-favourite vigilante whose allegiances may be put to the test in the upcoming series.
The covers for issue one of The Joker: The Man Who Stopped Laughing come from Di Giandomenico, Lee Bermejo and David Nakayama, Francesco Mattina, Ben Oliver, and Haining. The list of them is below.
The Joker: The Man Who Stopped Laughing will also have a backup narrative with artwork by Francesco Francavilla, which will include the Joker and Mirror Master in addition to the main plot.
The Joker: The Man Who Stopped Laughing #1 will be available on October 4.
