Nigerians Are Thought to Have Seen How the Controversial Video of the Late Big Brother Naija Star Rico Swavey Was Taken to the Hospital

A Facebook user named Ubangha Blessing Ubi, who claimed to be extremely familiar with the difficulties surrounding the admission of former Big Brother Naija Housemate Rico Swavey to the hospital prior to his death, has clarified the circumstances surrounding a viral video showing the deceased in the hospital.

According to SaharaReporters, Rico passed away early Wednesday morning. The reality personality reportedly got hurt in a car accident in the Lekki/Ajah neighborhood of Lagos.

Apparently, a cab driver who transported him to the hospital to find his family made the video, as Blessing, whose profile image says she is a nurse, stated.

She explained that the patient had been brought in by a good Samaritan, but that after examining him, they realized he needed to go to Eva Care Hospital instead.

They called the numbers they got from his phone in hopes that a relative would show up, but none did save for one girl who claimed to be a friend. The taxi driver who took him there started filming at that point with the intention of posting the footage online, where members of his family could eventually come across it and come to his aid. Eventually, the nurse instructed him to stop filming and start helping out. Why is she being held responsible for what?

She further clarified that it wasn’t the Nurses who were laughing, but rather the security guards.

The cab driver did that since they couldn’t get in touch with his family, according to a Twitter user named @Mazi Nonye, whose picture also says he is a medical expert. Furthermore, he stated that the nurses heard laughing in the video were not actual hospital staff.

Rico was taken there by cab with the help of a nice Samaritan, he wrote. Hospital staff were unable to handle the situation and referred the patient elsewhere, but not before initial aid was provided.

Who will help the nurse lift the patient for transfer now? No one. Instead, the driver filmed clips to share with his family online, while his contacts were checked one by one and only a female acquaintance turned up. Somebody in the back (perhaps the Good Samaritan and/or the driver) laughs and says, “no be una dey work here,” and then someone else tweets, “All present are nurses???”

What gall!!!! Even the educated among us?

On the other hand, “you don’t see them asking the fundamental question ‘WHERE WAS THE DOCTOR IN A THESE CHARADE???” he said.

However, it was previously reported that the government of Lagos State intended to investigate all of the doctors involved in the 30-second video footage showing the dying moments of a former reality TV star at the hospital.

State Commissioner for Information and Strategy Gbenga Omotoso confirmed the government’s probe into the situation.

His exact words were, “That hospital is not a government facility; we have begun an investigation into the unprofessional behaviors of those who appeared in that film.
