Queen Elizabeth Last Journey

Queen Elizabeth’s Last Hours as Family Dashed to Deathbed

A brief but ominous proclamation set the tone, and everyone in London began to worry. Doctors for Queen Elizabeth II expressed “alarm” less than 48 hours after the monarch was photographed, seeming frail but cheerful, selecting new Prime Minister Liz Truss.
Despite being under “medical supervision,” the 96-year-old monarch “remained comfortable” in her Scottish getaway, Balmoral Castle, according to a rare medical bulletin provided by Buckingham Palace.

At 12:32 pm (1132 GMT), Truss shocked lawmakers who had come to hear him declare a two-year freeze on energy costs.

The office of Prince Charles, heir to the throne, reported within minutes that he and his wife Camilla, who were already residing on the Balmoral estate, had arrived at Balmoral Castle.

Princess Anne, the queen’s daughter, was reportedly in Scotland at the time and likely made it to Balmoral in time as well.

The two were reportedly present at the queen’s deathbed on Thursday afternoon.

However, the rest of the family had a lengthy, fruitless sprint from London.

Prince William, second in line to the throne, along with Andrew and Edward, the queen’s other sons, and Edward’s wife, Sophie, who is very close to the monarch, landed in a cold and gloomy Aberdeen aboard a special RAF plane late in the afternoon. Now that he is heir, William drove the automobile the 80 kilometers (50 miles) to Balmoral.

It was too late by the time the glum-faced royals stormed out of Balmoral at around 5:00 p.m.The prime minister learned the queen had passed away that afternoon, at around 4:30 p.m.The second son of Charles, Prince Harry, was still on his way from London.

A representative for the couple previously stated that both he and his wife, Meghan, will be making the trip to Balmoral. Ultimately, Harry flew there by himself and was still in the air when the official announcement from the palace was made to the globe at 6:30 p.m.He arrived at Balmoral considerably later than everyone else.

After Meghan’s run of devastating critiques of the royal family, BBC royal correspondent Nicholas Witchell speculated live on air that she decided not to travel because “she would not be particularly warmly welcomed.”

According to the statement released by the palace, the queen passed away “peacefully,” though, in keeping with royal custom, no further details about her passing were provided.

The Daily Mail said that sources said there was “no chronic disease.”

Despite her reduced workload in recent months, Queen Elizabeth II met with both outgoing Prime Minister Boris Johnson and incoming Prime Minister Liz Truss on Tuesday.

The insiders told the newspaper that the queen’s mood suddenly changed between Wednesday night and Thursday morning, even though her recent “mobility challenges” have been widely reported.
