New Mafia Game Announced by 2k: what Mafia Making a New Game?

Two companies, 2K Games and Hangar 13, have said that a fourth game in the Mafia series is now being made. We’ve already heard from multiple sources that Hangar 13 is working on Mafia 4 to make it a prequel to the first Mafia game. Even though the studio hasn’t said for sure that this will happen, we now know that a new game in the series is being made.

In a new interview posted today on the official Mafia website, Hangar 13 GM Roman Hladk told fans that the next game in the series is now on the way.

Hladik, who has worked on every Mafia game since the first one came out in 2002, said that the project is still in the early stages of development and won’t be ready for a while. Still, this news comes at a time when the Mafia series is celebrating its 20th anniversary, so it’s good to know that the franchise will keep going.

“I’m happy to say that work has begun on a brand-new Mafia project!” Hladik told the Q&A blog to end. “It’s still a few years away, and we can’t say much more about it right now, but we’re excited to keep working on this popular series and give our players more stories to enjoy.”

Based on what has been said in the past, Mafia 4 will be a prequel about the character Don Salieri. The game seems to be about his rise to power and how he became the crime boss for whom the main character of Mafia, Tommy Angelo, works. If this turns out to be true, the game will take place between the late 1800s and the early 1900s. The story of the game is also said to take place in Sicily.

Since Mafia 4 isn’t out yet, it seems likely that the game will only be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC when it does come out.
