In later stages, he becomes well-known in SAO as the «Black Swordsman»(Kuro no Kenshi? ), a reference to his penchant for donning all-black garb. After using his Dual Blades Sword Skill, he wields two blades: a black “Elucidator” and a white “Dark Repulser.” After losing a public duel to Knights of the Blood leader Heathcliff, he joined the group and adopted their red and white outfit.

Initially, Kirito appeared as a “Spriggan,” a default appearance he selected due of the black aesthetic of the race’s gear. His black hair stood in natural spikes, rather than hanging in the usual forelocks. He had dark greyish blue wings and big, what seemed to be malicious eyes. His normally spiked hair is down for Mother’s Rosario. He’s armed with a massive broadsword fit for “Imps” or other large players. On rare occasions, he’ll use his SAO-honed dual-wielding skills.
His dishevelled hair is still down after being converted back from his brief sojourn in Gun Gale Online, but his wicked black eyes have been updated. Additionally, he changes out his broadsword for a longsword and is given a new coat.
His dual-wielding weapon, the “Holy Sword Excaliber,” which he acquires in late December 2025.

Kirito’s GGO character is the elusive “M9000” kind, the envy of many male players. His black hair is in pristine condition as it cascades down to his shoulders. His lips are bright red, and his otherwise pale face is framed by thick, dark lashes. It would be easy to mistake him for a woman if you didn’t know any better. Sinon gets thrown into a loop since he assists him thinking he is a woman but discovers in the locker room that he is actually a man.
A 5.7mm FN Five Seven handgun and a “Kagemitsu G4” photon sword are in his arsenal.

Nobuyuki has short, slicked-back hair, dark eyes, and wears glasses and a business suit in the real world. He sports a bright red necktie and is pretty tall. It was implied in the anime that his hair had turned white after his failed attempt on Kirigaya Kazuto’s life.

Oberon, his in-game persona, flies around with green eyes and a full head of golden hair in ALfheim Online.
