Kaitlin Olson is a well-known comedian, producer, and actor in the United States. Kaitlin rose to fame in the comedy series “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” on FX, where she played Deandra “Sweet Dee” Renolds starting in 2005. She has also acted in a number of movies and was the lead on “The Mick” from 2017 to 2018.

Although the actress has seen considerable success in her career, many of her followers are interested in learning more about her husband. Everything there is to know about Kaitlin Olson’s husband will be covered in this post.

Who Is Kaitlin Olson’s Husband?

Former co-stars Rob McElhenney and Kaitlin Olson are now married. After meeting and falling in love while filming It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, the comedians started d@ting. They secretly d@ted for a while before eventually telling the other cast members about their love, which led to their marriage two years later. Axel Lee and Leo Grey, the couple’s subsequent two boys, were born in September 2010 and April 2012, respectively.

Buzz Feed posted an official tweet which you can see here.

The actor from Mythic Quest and the star of Hacks have now been together for more than ten years and have enjoyed many tender moments.

They have experienced ups and downs. During a joint appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in August 2022, McElhenney said to Olson, “And I can tell you that I love you more now than I did 14 years ago. As hard as it is sometimes, just like in any relationship, I will keep showing up and doing my best because I love you so much.”

McElhenney noticed Olson on the TV years before they actually met, as he later admitted on Instagram in March 2020.

He added, “I remember watching an episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm in 2002 — before I even moved to L.A. — and seeing this woman playing Larry’s sister-in-law,” adding, “so funny and so beautiful and so out of my league. Well, it’s eighteen years later and tonight I get to hold her hand, watch her on another episode of Curb and be reminded of all of those things again. What a lucky person I am.”

McElhenney had considered Olson to be handsome and humorous on television, but when they first met in person at an It’s Always Sunny casting call in Philadelphia, he wasn’t immediately won over.

In the end, McElhenney chose Olson to play Dee Reynolds, a failing actress who waits tables at the Irish pub where the drama is set. August 2005 saw the first season air on FX, and soon Olson started to feel a same way about McElhenney.

As Olson later admitted, she was the one who initiated the flirtation with her husband, or at least she tried to. She made the decision to move during a game night at the home of Charlie Day and Mary Elizabeth Ellis, another pair of the show’s costars. He was present, and she acknowledged that she had been drinking since it was how she dealt with her anxiety around him.

The couple soon started d@ting. McElhenney wished for the connection to be informal, nevertheless.

The couple, who started d@ting while shooting season two, kept their relationship a secret from their co-stars for a few months before deciding to come clean. McElhenney proposed to his girlfriend in the Malibu beach house of their co-star and buddy DeVito, taking the traditional beach proposal to a new level.

The Unsupervised star confessed that the couple dropped the romantic holiday from their schedule nearly right away after they started dating. Given that he greeted his wife a “Happy Valentines Day my love” on Instagram in February 2021, it appears that he has softened his views in recent years.

McElhenney expressed candidly about his admiration and affection for Olson in a touching Instagram tribute for his wife’s 44th birthday. He captioned a pair of pictures of Olson, one a professional portrait and the other a selfie, with the words “Every day you teach me about kindness, patience, forgiveness and inconceivable resilience.”

The couple’s relationship was more “miserable and joyous” than that, and couldn’t be reduced to the #CoupleGoals you see on social media.

“Instagram relationships seem to be perfect. We don’t have one of those. It’s messy and hard and wonderful and boring and sweet and exciting and miserable and joyous,” he said, adding, “I don’t know much but I know this … I am lost without you.”
