After having two children, a girl named Eva in 1981 and a son named Dashiell in 1985, Harry and his wife of 17 years, Leslie Pollack, divorced in 1999. Famous for her roles in shows like “You’re the Worst” and “Comedy Bang! Bang!”, Eva is also a writer and producer.

In the year 2000, Anderson wed Elizabeth Morgan, and the couple stayed together until Anderson died in 2018. Show creator Reinhold Weege has remarked that the fact that both Harry and his “Night Court” persona adored Mel Tormé was just accidental.
