Joe Burrow is a former LSU Tigers quarterback and current Cincinnati Bengals starter in the National Football League. Burrow was born in Ames, Iowa on December 10, 1996, but he spent most of his childhood in Athens, Ohio. At Athens High School, where he played football, he broke numerous school records and took his team to the playoffs of the state tournament.
Burrow started his collegiate career with the Ohio State Buckeyes but transferred to LSU in 2018. His 2019 season was a breakthrough one, as he led LSU to a perfect record and the national title. The Heisman Trophy, given to college football’s best player yearly, was only one of several honors he received that year.
The Bengals of the NFL’s Cincinnati franchise choose Burrow with the first overall pick in 2020. Before a knee injury ended his debut season, he started 10 games for the Bengals and threw for 2,688 yards and 13 touchdowns. Despite his injuries, Burrow has shown he has what it takes to be a starting quarterback in the NFL.
