The Vanderpump Rules star, now 37 years old, was sighted in New York City this week for the birthday celebration of Daniel Wai. What started as a casual rebound has developed into something deeper between them. Madix in Los Angeles, and Wai in New York City, don’t let distance get in the way of their romance.
Who Is The New Boyfriend Of Ariana Madix?
A source close to the Vanderpump Rules star, 37, tells PEOPLE exclusively that she and her new boyfriend, Daniel Wai, are taking their relationship to the next level.
The insider said that Madix, who broke up with her longtime boyfriend Tom Sandoval in early March after discovering his affair with their costar Raquel Leviss, has been telling people in her network that she is falling in love with him.
The source added, “They met in Mexico at a mutual friend’s wedding, shortly after Scandoval broke. At first, it looked like just a light rebound fling but they have a special bond. Even though he lives in New York City, they’ve been able to make it work.”
The source continues, “it’s happening faster than she thought, but he treats her well, they’re having fun, and she’s happy to be moving on to this next chapter with such an incredible guy.”
After Madix and Sandoval broke up after nine years, the couple was first sighted together in mid-April at the Coachella Music and Arts Festival. At the event in Indio, California, Madix and Wai were spotted holding hands.

Madix threw a huge party for Wai’s birthday in New York City at the beginning of May. Wai uploaded an Instagram video in which he talked about his weekend, which included going on a few of d@tes and watching the Yankees play. In several clips, we also saw him opening the birthday present Madix had gotten him.
Then, Wai returned to New York City with Madix this week, where they have been attending a number of dinners and press events together. On Monday morning, he accompanied her to Radio City Music Hall for her presentation at the NBC Universal Upfronts.
While in New York City, Madix and Wai dined at Campagnola Restaurant with pals like Margaret Josephs of The Real Housewives of New Jersey. Madix and Wai may be seen smiling and cuddling in a shot with their friends from a night out. You can see the official Instagram post by Ariana Madix below.

Madix also posted a photo on her Instagram Stories from their time in the Big Apple. The two posed for the camera in front of the French restaurant Daniel in the middle of Manhattan, both dressed to the nines.
News outlets reported in March that Sandoval and Madix had broken up. A source indicated at the time that Madix’s infidelity with Leviss, which lasted for several months, was the “final straw.”
“She put up with a lot over the years, but she won’t sit back and be disrespected this way,” the source continued.
On March 16, Madix released a message on Instagram in response to public apologies from both Sandoval and Leviss.
