2022 NFL Season

2022 NFL Season: Who Has the Best Defense in the NFL 2022?

Even though the Los Angeles Rams just won their second Super Bowl, many NFL teams are looking to get back on track after having a bad season in 2021.

Last season, six teams (the Jaguars, Lions, Jets, Giants, Texans, and Panthers) had five wins or less. They were tied with eight other teams for having records below. 500: the Ravens, Browns, Vikings, Browns, Commanders, Seahawks, and Broncos.

With the 2022 NFL season starting in just over a week, we want to know:

Which NFL team will enjoy the biggest turnaround in 2022?

  • Detroit Lions

I know Aaron Rodgers’ Packers are the kings of the NFC North, but the Detroit Lions are ready to take a shot at the throne. They might not win, but they’ll be closer than they’ve been in a long time. The last time Detroit won a division title was in 1993. After being traded by the Rams in January 2021, Jared Goff is still on his “prove ’em wrong” campaign, and head coach Dan Campbell wants to turn Goff’s passionate speeches into real wins. You can expect the Lions to win a lot more games this season than the three they did last year. This is the year that Detroit gets back on the map.

  • Denver Broncos

Since 2016, when they won Super Bowl 50, the Denver Broncos haven’t had a winning season or made the playoffs. Everything feels like it’s about to change. The Broncos made one of the most important moves of the offseason when they traded for Russell Wilson, who does almost nothing better than win. In eight of his 10 years in Seattle, Wilson won at least 10 games. Denver will quickly remember how it feels to win both in the regular season and in January. By the way, their first eight games are the easiest in the NFL in 2021 (.412 percentage of wins by the other team).

  • New York Jets

The Jets haven’t been in the playoffs in more than 10 years. After 11 years, that drought ends. In the last two years, general manager Joe Douglas and head coach Robert Saleh have made a lot of changes to this team’s roster. They have added players who can make plays on both offence and defence. The team is young, but I think it has what it takes to go from winning four games in 2021 to being in the running for the playoffs in 2022.

2022 NFL Season

  • Jacksonville Jaguars

David, I understand what you’re saying. If not for Zach Wilson’s injury in the preseason and Mekhi Becton’s knee injury, I would have also picked the Jets. But I’m picking the Jacksonville Jaguars. The team had the No. 1 overall pick in April because of how bad things were for it last season. The Jaguars are already a much, much better team after hiring Doug Pederson, a winner who cares a lot about team culture and adding big-time playmakers through free agency and the draught. If Trevor Lawrence improves in his second year, this team might surprise more than just the Colts this year.

  • Baltimore Ravens

Even though the Ravens won eight games and were close to making the playoffs last year, they did so without many of their best players, such as starting running back J.K. Dobbins, cornerback Marlon Humphrey, and left tackle, Ronnie Stanley. All of those guys are back on this team, and Lamar Jackson is healthy. If his megadeal doesn’t get done by Week 1, Jackson is going to go on a tear. The Ravens could be one of the best teams in the league, and if that’s the case, they’ll easily beat their 8 wins from last year.
