Although Hart claimed that none of her three children were at school on Monday, she and Wilkerson were on their way to a meeting at the school when they stopped to aid students who were trying to escape through the woods from Covenant.
During a press conference on Monday, John Drake, the chief of the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, said that some children from Covenant had fled into the woods. WSMV has obtained surveillance footage showing bystanders crossing the street following the sh00ting.
