Kensington Palace released a statement on Monday morning saying that they are overjoyed to share the news that the Duchess of Cambridge is carrying the couple’s third child and soon the Royal Fab 4 will be five! It was announced today by Kensington Palace that Prince William and Kate Middleton are expecting their third child. The royal couple already has two young children, Prince George, 4, and Princess Charlotte, 2.
Is Kate Middleton Pregnant?
According to a statement issued by Kensington Palace on Monday morning,“Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Cambridge is expecting their third child.”
Members of both families, including the Queen, are delighted by the announcement. Kate, now 35 years old, experienced severe morning sickness (also known as Hyperemesis Gravidarum) during both of her first pregnancies. According to the statement, she had the issue throughout this pregnancy as well.
Because of this, her appearance scheduled for Monday morning had to be cancelled.

“As with her previous two pregnancies, The Duchess is suffering from Hyperemesis Gravidarum. The statement added, “Her Royal Highness will no longer carry out her planned engagement at the Hornsey Road Children’s Centre in London today,”
“The Duchess is being cared for at Kensington Palace.”
The palace made the announcement early due to Kate’s illness, thus she is likely to be less than three months along. Kate had similar care at home in Apartment 1A of the palace when she was expecting Princess Charlotte. Prince Harry, who is in Manchester today, will drop to sixth in line to the throne as a result of the birth.
“The news is fantastic, great,” Harry told the press on Monday. “Very very happy for them!” In response to a question concerning Kate, he said, “I haven’t seen her for a while, but I think she’s okay.”

The baby prince or princess will be entering a lovely family. Since their births, George and Charlotte have traveled the world with their parents, delighting crowds everywhere they go, including a fall 2016 tour of Canada and Christmas Day in Kate’s hometown of Bucklebury. In September, while on a Canadian visit, Prince George discovered the joy of bubbles, and Princess Charlotte spoke for the first time in public.
If William and Kate’s third child is a boy, he would not remove Charlotte from the line of succession according to legislation implemented shortly after the couple’s wedding in 2011. Up until now, a younger boy would take precedence over his older sister when it came to inheriting the throne.
