Chapter 4 of Season 2 is quickly approaching, so players of Fortnite should start thinking about when the new season will begin and what it will contain. Chapter 4 of Season 1 ends on March 8, with the gate at Warden’s Watch having been shattered and a red gap having appeared in the sky.
As usual, Epic hasn’t said much about what will happen in the new season, but we can still figure out a lot. Let’s look at clues and past events to figure out when Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 will start, and then talk about what to expect from the new season.

When Will Fornite Chapter 4 Season 2 Release?
According to Polygon, Chapter 4 of Season 2 is now live! There are several battle pass skins to unlock, a new map with new points of interest (including Mega City), futuristic vehicles to drive, and much more.
Chapter 4 Season 2 will start on Friday, March 10, and Epic Games has confirmed that downtime will begin at 2am ET. Chapter 4 of Season 2 is expected to be released at the following time, based on the average downtime of prior seasons (two to five hours).
- 1 a.m. – 4 a.m. PST for the west coast of North America
- 4 a.m. – 7 a.m. EST for the east coast of North America
- 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. CET for western Europe/Paris
- 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. GMT for the U.K.
- 3 p.m. – 6 p.m. JST on Japan/Tokyo
Based on Epic’s declaration that Season 1 would conclude a few days earlier than expected, the official conclusion date for Season 1 was set as March 8. That makes sense, since seasons used to end and start on weekends in the past.
The date of March 10 was first confirmed by Cipher quests that came with the 23.50 update last week. The Cipher quests came with a “looping encrypted message” that says “3.1.0.2.0.2.3,” or March 10, 2023.

What Updates Are Coming In Fornite’s Mega Season 2?
Chapter 4 Season 2 has a striking neon cyberpunk atmosphere, along with the name MEGA, according to leaks and official announcements from Epic.
Many characters have been teased by the official Fortnite Twitter account in the days following the announcement of the release date, and it seems probable that they will all be available as Battle Pass skins:

There’s also likely to be a new place called Neo-Tokyo and some returning places of interest, like an updated Lucky Landing, Loot Island, which is likely a floating island, and Tilted Towers, but that’s just a guess at this point.
The dirt bikes from the first season will return in Chapter 4, although they will likely be given a futuristic makeover. Also, the Battle Bus will be updated visually.
There will be several new skins and emotes and cosmetics available in Season 2. To top it all off, Eren Yeager from Attack on Titan will be included in the Battle Pass, possibly timed with the release of the third and final installment of the show’s current season.
Eren is expected to arrive with his Omni-Directional Mobility Gear, which should work like the web-shooters in Chapter 3.
You can expect Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield from Resident Evil 4 to show up a little later, probably around the time the remake comes out on March 24. There are also two Star Wars skins and Force abilities to look out for. It has been speculated that Fortnite would finally add a first-person mode in Season 2.
In any case, that’s all we know about when you can expect to see Fortnite chapter 4 season 2. If you’d want to learn more, you can visit serveupdate.com.
