On November 28, 1959, Madoff wed Ruth Alpern, a classmate of his from their time at Far Rockaway High School. The Madoff Charitable Foundation was founded by Alpern, who previously worked for Madoff’s Wall Street firm.

Mark and Andrew, two sons, were born to them. Their sons Mark (who committed suicide in 2010) and Andrew (who died of cancer in 2014) are no longer with them. My two boys both worked for Madoff in the trading department.
