Zac Taylor’s Collegiate Career
After being ignored by every Division I school in the country, Taylor committed to play for the Wake Forest Demon Deacons in 2002.
There, he sat out the first year as a redshirt and then served as a backup the next year. Taylor then enrolled at Butler Community College in Kansas, where he became an instant hit, leading his team all the way to the NJCAA title game and earning himself All-American accolades as a member of the NJCAA’s second team.
Taylor was signed by the University of Nebraska, which needed a quarterback for the 2004-2005 season. After a slow start with the Cornhuskers, he broke the school record for passing yards in a game by throwing for 431 yards against Iowa State.
