Due to Meta’s decision to end production on all of its Facebook Watch originals, the show “Red Table Talk” has been shelved. On Thursday, USA TODAY was informed of the closure by a source who was aware with the matter but not permitted to comment publicly.
USA TODAY has also contacted Willow Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith’s publicists for their thoughts on the matter. Westbrook, the firm behind the series, reportedly wants to move the chat show to a another network or streaming provider.

Jada Pinkett-Smith’s “Entanglement” with singer August Alsina, Olivia Jade’s college admissions scandal, and Jordyn Woods’ version of events with Tristan Thompson were just a few of the culturally significant conversations that took place on the show she co-hosted with her mother Adrienne Banfield-Norris and daughter Willow Smith.
However, Deadline reports that the show’s production company, Westbrook Studios, which was founded by Jada and Will, is actively seeking a new distributor despite the show’s current hiatus. This makes so much sense! After all, not only did the show get a lot of attention, but it also gave Jada, Adrienne, and Willow a platform to have some very significant talks.

When asked about her plans for the Red Table Talk brand in 2021, Jada told Rolling Stone that she wanted to broaden the empire. “It’s really interesting to be able to sit as three Black women and see different points of view, because I know a lot of people like to lump all Black women into one big pot. That myth has to be busted,” she said. And earlier today, the celebrity turned to Instagram to write a sincere letter that doubles down on the hope that the show’s break won’t be too long:

We wish everyone well in their new journeys to come,” Jada wrote. “We at Red Table are in talks of finding a new home and we’ll see you soon.” The post has amassed tons of Likes and support from fans, one of whom wrote, “Job well done, Jada!! See you at your new network!! A NEW journey awaits.”
