Gold in the 4x100m relay, silver in the 100m, and bronze in the 200m were Bowie’s three Olympic medals from 2016. She swept the 100-meter and 4×100-meter events at the 2017 World Championships.
Bowie, a native of Sandhill, Mississippi, earned three All-American selections during his stay at the University of Southern Mississippi.
The last time Bowie competed officially was in June of 2022. In 2019, she competed at the global championships in Doha and placed fourth in the long jump.
World Athletics (WA) released the following statement: “[Bowie] was a rare athletic talent who represented the United States in both sprints and jumps during her decorated career.”
