In the opening film of the sequel trilogy, Avery (Lacey Chabert) and Peter (Kevin McGarry) are restoring an old property they’ve just bought, which is proving to be more work than they bargained for.
Avery is waiting for the appropriate time to tell him some good news, though. Meanwhile, Peter is worried about Avery’s mother-in-law Grace’s (Karen Kruper) new relationship with an old flame.
Emma (Autumn Reeser) and Tracy (Alison Sweeney), who help Avery from a distance and in person when they decide that a video conference isn’t enough to deal with that, the dangers of renovation, and the politics of having a new boss at the museum, are lucky to have her.
