The Sandbox Release Date
In 2012, the Sandbox was released for mobile devices. Animoca Brands, the studio behind F1 Delta Time, just acquired the rights to The Sandbox IP with the idea of re-releasing it as a sandbox game using NFTs on a Polygon sidechain.
Dates for when The Sandbox will be available to players are shown below.
Players can earn SANDBOX tokens by completing in-game tasks; the game is based on a “play to earn” concept.
Some reports state that after four years of development, the game was released.
The game is prepared to give players the chance to earn money during their playtime. Players will be able to develop plots of land, generate NFTs, and harvest $SAND tokens in this game. These tokens can be traded for cryptocurrency at a later date, cashed out, or staked to generate further cryptocurrency.
The Sandbox Roadmap
The official roadmap may be out of date, but it still sheds light on where The Sandbox is headed.
Players of The Sandbox can anticipate further LAND purchases to occur throughout development, in addition to the Alpha release. On September 9, eight additional Estates became available during the most recent sale, The Walking Dead LAND Sale Wave 3.
In 2021, The Sandbox plans to officially release VoxEdit and Game Maker, both of which are currently in beta.
