In the second season, everything from unexpected pregnancy cravings to crocodiles and war-mongering foes was thrown Catherine’s way… Meanwhile, the show continued to follow its protagonist’s transition from a daring but naive visionary to a ruler who must deal with the inevitable challenge of reconciling her idealistic views on the world with the harsh reality of what it takes to instill lasting social and political change.
It’s clear that “The Great” is no longer relevant to Catherine’s real-life after the season 2 finale changed the show’s subtitle from “An Occasionally True Story” to “An Almost Entirely Untrue Story.” However, we can only hope that this will heighten the suspense in Season 3 as we wait to see what happens next in alternate historical Russia that series creator Tony McNamara and his colleagues have imagined.

When and Where to Watch The Great Season 3
Season 3 of “The Great” will have ten episodes and be available exclusively on Hulu, as were seasons 1 and 2. Due to the pandemic, the show’s second season premiered on November 19, 2021, instead of May 15, 2020, as originally planned. As a result, the season-to-season gap between seasons 2 and 3 is likely to be shorter than previously anticipated. Other loose ends from “The Great” season 2 include what will happen to Merial now that Catherine has her arrested — after Mariel told her the truth about Joanna — as well as Arkady, Tatyana, and Grigor now that they’ve all been implicated in Joanna’s death (who, unlike Mariel, were conspiring against Catherine). Georgina, on the other hand, has persuaded Catherine that she has joined the Enlightenment and will have to find new ways to undermine the Empress without the help of her fellow nobles. What We Know About The Great Season 3 Cast and Crew
