Neither Taylor Hurt’s family nor her partner have commented publicly on the circumstances surrounding her de@th. In fact, for many people, the cooking show was the only proof that she had passed away. Taylor’s de@th was never suspected by those who wondered why she wasn’t posting to her social media accounts.

Her final Instagram post was posted on November 19, 2020, just 10 days before her terrible de@th. It promotes both her job and Chef Katie Dixon’s cookbook “Be Nourished.”

Having said that, Brandi Emmons Lott just made a post on Facebook that hinted that Taylor may have developed an addiction. Her caption said, “It was truly a blessing to get to see you again Taylor M. Hurt. You looked so confident on Chopped and I am so proud of you! Addiction is a horrible horrible thief!! We love you big Tater!!”

From what we know, Brandi is also from Mississippi, but we can’t say for sure if she knew Taylor or anything else about what happened. So, until Taylor’s family tells us more, if ever, we can only guess.

Who Exactly Was Taylor Hurt?

Taylor Hurt, at age 30, appeared to be enjoying the life of her dreams. Before she moved to Brooklyn, New York, she worked as a sous chef at the Birdhouse Café and Cotton Blues. She was from Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

She was a local expert who had a job at LaRina Pastificio and Vino, a hip Italian bar with a reputation for its fresh pasta, specialty cocktails, and craft beers. You can check the official Instagram post of Chef Taylor Hurt below.

Taylor had even made up a lot of her own recipes, and she was successful enough to get her work published in the “Be Nourished” cookbook. She had worked at a few restaurants in New York City over time, so her experience showed her drive.

During her appearance on “Chopped,” Taylor sadly came in last. Still, she wowed the food world with her mouth-watering three-course meals and their great presentation. Her fruitful life, however, didn’t last long, as she passed away on November 29, 2020.

According to her obituary, her lifelong dream was to become the host of a popular cookery show. Taylor was loved and cared for by her parents, Gary and Luvith Hurt, as well as her siblings, Del Sanders, Kay Cameron, and Vivian Hurt. Her girlfriend at the time was Paige Pirtle, who still remembers her and misses her.
