Summer Game Fest

Summer Game Fest

Summer Game Fest returns this year, and it’s even more important now that E3 2022 has been canceled.

Summer Game Fest 2022 will kick off with a live Kickoff event hosted by Keighley, much like in prior years. Live stream showcases from publishers and developers will follow, showing us what they have in store for us.

The event will take place next month, and the guests have been announced. From PlayStation, Xbox, 2K Games, Epic Games, and more, we’re in for a variety of presentations. There is currently no sign of Nintendo around, so we will have to wait and see what happens. Summer Games Fest 2022 is the next best thing to E3, and it’s well worth your time to tune in to watch. We may expect to see some of the year’s most anticipated game announcements during the event.

Summer Game Fest 2022: Cut to the Chase

Starting at 11 am PST, Summer Game Fest 2022 will begin on Thursday, June 9th.

This year’s festivities will be shorter in comparison to prior years. This year’s Summer Game Fest was a year-long event. However, that didn’t stop it from having an impact last year despite its short duration in June. Summer Game Fest 2021 unveiled Elden Ring, Death Stranding: Director’s Cut, and Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands.

There will be no physical event this year, as all of Summer Game Fest 2022 will be aired live on the internet for free. Twitch and YouTube are the best places to watch.

What Is Summer Game Fest?

Summer Game Fest is a time when game publishers and creators host online events. Summer Game Fest isn’t an event, but the Kickoff Live show it hosts every year is. Live streams from various publishers are not the focus of this umbrella, but rather an umbrella that contains all live broadcasts from various publishers.

After E3 2020 was canceled, Geoff Keighley, the host of The Game Awards, came up with the idea of Summer Game Fest, which debuted in 2020 to fill the void. During the festival’s four-month run in 2020, Microsoft, Sony, Activision, Valve, and Bethesda joined forces with 16 of the industry’s biggest publishers, including Microsoft, Sony, Activision, Valve, and Bethesda.

Summer Game Fest 2021, which ran from June to July 2021 and featured a slew of digital live stream displays from a variety of important publishers and developers, including PlayStation, Xbox, Ubisoft, and Bandai Namco, was fortunate enough to be a a “more condensed” but somehow bigger than ever.

Organizer Geoff Keighley has promised “massive new game announcements, international premieres, notable guests, and much more” when it comes to Summer Game Fest 2022.

The ‘heart’ of the event will run from June 9 to June 12 with “a lot of huge streams from developers and publishers,” says Keighley.

And let’s not forget the Xbox and Bethesda showcase which is planned to live on Sunday, June 12 at 10 am PT / 1 pm ET / 6 pm BST.

Every conference during Summer Game Fest 2022 will be streamed live for free, so there is no need to register.

There are already a lot of Summer Game Fest 2022’s partners in place. In the absence of Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft are expected to have a presence.

Since its inception in 2017, Summer Game Fest 2021 has featured more than 25 publishers (including EA and Epic Games), platforms (including PlayStation and Xbox One), and partners (such as Bandai Namco and Square Enix).

Summer Game Fest 2022 has so far gathered a stunning 30 participants. Nintendo is expected to announce its attendance at the convention in the coming weeks, given the event is only a few weeks away.

Summer Game Fest 2021 was packed full of juicy announcements, updates, and reveals. Some of the biggest announcements from last year include the Elden Ring reveal, the reveal of Death Stranding Director’s Cut for PS5
