Sounders Game

Sounders Game

The Sounders’ two-game winning streak was ended, and the Colorado Rapids’ home unbeaten streak was extended to a whopping 23. The Sounders were beaten 1-0 by Jonathan Lewis’s goal in the game’s only goal.

There were a few who were left scratching their heads when Jonathan Lewis was credited with a goal in a sequence that left many stumped.

Lewis appeared to be in an offside position at the point where Diego Rubin shot, which was the most egregious of the possible infractions. After Year deflected Stefan Frei’s goal-saving effort, Lewis found himself in the path of the defender.

The Seattle Sounders tied for the fewest points in Major League Soccer just a week ago. After beating the Colorado Rapids 1-0 on Sunday, the Sounders could finish the week in a playoff spot.

The Sounders have found their footing after struggling to balance the Concacaf Champions League and the MLS regular season through the first two-plus months of the season.
