According to Scoop Management, Sienna Weir, a finalist for Miss Universe Australia, passed away at the age of 23. The brand posted a tribute video on Instagram on May 4 containing images of the model with the caption “Forever in our hearts.”
According to News.com.au, Sienna was taken off life support after a tragic horseback riding acc*dent. Sienna was reportedly injured on April 2 while riding at Sydney’s Windsor Polo Grounds. She was taken by ambulance to Westmead Hospital, where she remained on life support for weeks before she ultimately passed away.
After graduating with a BA in English and a BS in psychology from Sydney University, the beauty queen revealed to Gold Coast Magazine her “deep and unmoving love for show jumping.”

She said in September, “I’ve been horse-riding since I was 3 years old, and I can’t imagine my life without it. My family aren’t quite sure where this passion came from. I travel to rural Sydney two to three times a week to train and compete around New South Wales or broader Australia every other weekend.”
Australian photographer Chris Dwyer, who had worked with Sienna on multiple occasions, posted a series of tributes to her on social media after hearing the news of her de@th. “You were one of the kindest souls in the world, you lit up the room and the world is a lot darker now that you are gone,” he wrote on his Instagram Stories alongside a photo of Sienna. “Hope wherever you are, you’re being the gremlin we all know and love. Meanwhile, model Sofia Reynal said on her Facebook, “You are forever the angel we always knew, beaming with so much joy, looking above us, touching the hearts of everyone who was lucky to have met you. My heart breaks, no words could ever describe the pain that stems from so much love. That love you unconditionally shined.”
Pageant star Jasmin Selberg expressed her sadness in the comments area of one of Sienna’s Instagram images by saying, “As a fellow equestrian, this pains me even more. Rest in Peace.”
