A family friend of Lee’s told PEOPLE in March that drinking was a contributing cause to her untimely passing. The source claimed that Lee “was heavily drinking [the night she di*d]” and that her husband Cory James Weston (ring name Westin Blake) discovered her body.

“He [Westin] had just come back from working in Orlando. He took the kids somewhere and came back and found her. It was sudden.”

Lee was “never that person you would think would do this,” the source said. “There were never any signs.”

Her mother, Terri Lee, broke the news to the public via Facebook in October, writing that they are “in shock” over her daughter’s untimely passing. “It is with heavy hearts we wanted to share that our Sara Weston has gone to be with Jesus,” she wrote. “We are all in shock and arrangements are not complete.”

She went on to say, “We ask that you respectfully let our family mourn. We all need prayers especially [Sara’s husband] Cory and her children.”
