However, nothing compares to the groundbreaking original series that made drag a cultural phenomenon. Even though RuPaul’s Drag Race has only just begun airing its fourteenth season, Mama Ru is already hard at work! The 15th season of the show has been commissioned.
The workroom will soon be welcoming a brand new group of drag queens, hand-picked by Ru and her team. Each of them is vying for the title of drag queen of the year, much like their predecessors before them. Even though the game’s rules are well-known, you never know what new twists the new season will bring. So far, this is all we have to go on.

When is season 15 airing?
The premiere date has not yet been set. RuPaul, on the other hand, has already begun selecting her new cast members.
A casting call was launched in November 2021, with a final application date of January 7, 2022, for those interested. So, assuming they haven’t already finished creating their cast, it’s safe to presume that the production team is currently combing through audition tapes.
For season 15, if we follow the Drag Race universe’s current calendar, it’s anticipated to debut in early 2019.
Who’s judging this season?
We’ve all been there before. It’s Ru who ultimately has the final say on who gets to the shanty and whether they stay or leave.
Aside from right-hand woman Michelle Visage and Carson Kressley and Ross Matthews, her panel of judges is likely to consist of these three men: she consults them. Of course, there will be a few special guest judges. Lizzo and Alicia Keys kicked off Season 14 with a bang. It’s impossible to predict who will be the next queen judge!
What’s the grand prize?
Although it has fluctuated over the years, RuPaul’s Drag Race winners now get $100,000 in prize money. A $5,000 cash bonus is awarded to everyone who wins a maxi challenge. As a bonus, you get the year’s supply of makeup, the title of RPDR champion, and a crown and scepter.
Expect the same unless Ru decides to throw in a little extra and make the offer even better. We’re all aware of her penchant for plot twists and turns.
