Blake died of heart disease, his niece Noreen Austin said in a statement. He was at home with his family in Los Angeles when he died.

Blake’s career never got back on track after his wife Bonny Lee Bakley was shot and killed outside of a Studio City restaurant on May 4, 2001.

He was sure that he hadn’t killed his wife, and in the end, a jury agreed with him. But a civil jury would find that he was responsible for her death and order him to pay $30 million to Bakley’s family, which put him out of business.
