Agarwal’s place of birth is Ajmer, Rajasthan. Both of his parents have distinguished careers in the field of science and academia; his father was a senior officer in the Indian Department of Atomic Energy, while his mother taught economics at the Veermata Jijabai Institute of Technology in Mumbai before retiring.
In 2001, Parag Agarwal graduated from Atomic Energy Junior College in Mumbai, where he had been a student since he was in the ninth grade.
