Mr. Sunshine is one of those historical dramas (South Korean television series) that was developed by Jinnie Choi and written by Kim Eun-sook. The show has gotten a variety of positive reviews and ratings and is a critically praised television series in South Korea today. Korean dramas have become extremely famous, and they are widely regarded as some of the highest-rated television shows on the planet. It has become ubiquitous on Netflix and other streaming services in recent years.
The catchy soundtracks and outstanding production values, not only in the romance but also in the historical genre, are the most prevalent reasons why drama has earned such a large following of viewers. Before this, the writer-director team had collaborated on blockbuster dramas such as descendants of the sun and guardian: the lonely and mighty deity. The tale takes place in Hanseong, Korea, in the early 1900s.
Period Drama and romance are like Queen Bey and Jay-Z: they go together like peanut butter and jelly. With amazing costumes, a historical backdrop, and a lovely flirtation between an unusual pair, who could say no to this? Mr. Sunshine is a series about eugenics Cho (Lee Byung-hun), a Korean-born United States Marine Corps soldier who returns to his native land in the nineteenth century and falls in love with a beautiful woman named Goo Ae-shin. Mr. Sunshine is the first Korean-language series to be released on Netflix (Kim Tae-Ri).
Season 1 will conclude on September 29th and 30th, but Mr. Sunshine will not return for season 2 because the entire series was only ever intended to run for this amount of time, as stated by the deadline, and so will not be renewed. Netflix has officially confirmed that it has bought the rights to stream the Korean drama around the world from production company Hwa & Dam Pictures and studio dragon, according to a statement.
Mr. Sunshine was created by Kim Eun-sook and directed by Lee Eung-Bok, both of whom are known for their international hit Descendents of the Sun, and are currently airing in South Korea. Netflix has been positioning itself to dominate the global streaming scene by beefing up its international show offerings recently with foreign language series like The Rain, Dark, Undercover Law, and Deadwind.
Because Mr. Sunshine premieres two episodes per week, Netflix is departing from its standard “bing” style approach to ensure that the episodes are released in sync with the show’s regular broadcast. This enables people all over the world to receive fresh information at the same time and avoid those pesky spoilers that sometimes come with them.
It may be that Mr. Sunshine is coming to an end soon, but its visually spectacular and melodramatic episodes have been preserved (kind of) on Netflix for future walks down memory lane. And, at the very least, the program will be able to conclude rather than leave viewers hanging after a premature cancellation. That is one of the most appealing aspects of a miniseries. Perhaps the conclusion to this love story will elicit more heart-eyed emojis than sad faces on social media.

Mr. Sunshine’s first season came to a close on September 30, 2018, and one of the cast and crew members expressed their gratitude following the finale. It has been determined that the season has met its natural conclusion and that no subsequent seasons will be observed. Mr. sunlight was a never-ending parade of excitement and nervousness for me because it was my first show in a long time,” Lee Byung-hun remarked.
Yoo Yeon Seok shared his thoughts. The fact that I had to say goodbye to a project on which I had been working for a year fills me with a great deal of sadness. “It will be difficult to say goodbye.” Netflix is quite likely to bring up this show, based on the positive reviews and widespread popularity of the series.
