CBS News’ Michelle Miller is now serving as a co-host on CBS Saturday Morning in addition to her role as a national correspondent for CBS News. Additionally, she has filled in as a host for CBS Mornings and 48 Hours on ID as a substitute anchor.

He is a renowned politician and civil leader who held the office of Mayor of New Orleans between the years of 1994 and 2002. He is the son of Ernest N. “Dutch” Morial, who was the first African-American elected to the position of Mayor of New Orleans.
In 2002, he was a significant factor in bringing Chris Paul and the Hornets to the city of New Orleans from Charlotte, where they had played previously. Before devoting his full time and attention to politics in 1992, he worked as an attorney in private practice and achieved great success.
Ernest N. “Dutch” Morial and Sybil (Haydel) Morial, both educators and civic activists, were Marc Morial’s parents. Ernest N. “Dutch” Morial was the dean of Xavier University in New Orleans when Marc was born. He is the second child out of a total of five. He spent his formative years in the New Orleans neighborhood of Pontchartrain Park.
Morial continued his education at Jesuit High School in New Orleans, where he was inducted into the National Honor Society before graduating. At Jesuit High School, where there were a total of 1,000 students, he was one of just 14 black students. He also established the Student Association for Black Achievement and planned the school’s first Black History Month celebration.
In his senior year of high school, Morial was recognized as one of the Outstanding Young Men in America, as well as being listed in Who’s Who Among High School Students and Who’s Who in America.

Morial attended the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia and received a bachelor’s degree in economics as well as African American studies in the year 1980.
In 1983, Morial graduated with a Juris Doctor degree from Georgetown University in Washington, District of Columbia. At Georgetown, he was voted to serve as a first-year Delegate to the Student Bar Association. Additionally, he was a member of the National Black Law Students Association and served as the organization’s head of fundraising.
