Michael Kopsa, a star of Smallville and many other TV shows and movies, passed away on April 15 at the age of 66.
The family of Canadian actor Michael confirmed his tragic passing and provided details about what caused his demise.
Michael’s relatives said he passed away on October 23 from “complications from a brain tumor.”
In a message on Instagram, Michael’s ex-wife Lucia Frangione confirmed the tragic news.

Lucia captioned a photo of the actor with the words, “The great Michael Kopsa passed away Oct 23 2022 of a brain tumor,” after the two had a daughter together. Nora was the child’s father.
In addition to his many other talents, he was a present and loving father to our Nora. He was a theatre and screen actor, voice actor, musician, carpenter, and painter.
The words “I will miss you terribly” come to mind when I think about my close buddy and co-parent.
Michael, who arrived in the Big Apple in January of 1956 after being born in Toronto, spent the next four years there attending the Circle in the Square Theatre Training Program.
Later, he returned to Canada to complete his study at the University of Toronto, where he was awarded a double degree in arts and science.
The actor went on to play a wide variety of characters during his film career, amassing 227 acting credits in all.
He was Rick Culver on The X Files and Brady in a TV version of Honey, I Shrunk the Kids.
Michael has a lengthy acting resume that includes roles in Stargate SG-1, Smallville (where he portrayed Dean Winters), X-Men: Evolution, and both Fantastic Four and its prequel, The Thing.
Other Hallmark Channel movies he was in include It’s Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas, Love in Winterland, Marrying Father Christmas, and Valentine in the Vineyard.
The channel uploaded a photo of Michael and paid tribute to him on Instagram, writing: “Today we celebrate the life and work of Michael Kopska, a friend and colleague to many. No matter what, you’ll always be in our thoughts “.
Michael has also voiced characters in a number of animated shows, such as Ninjago, Dragon Ball Z, Action Man, X-Men: Evolution, Iron Man: Armored Adventures, Planet Hulk Alien Racers, and Princess Castle.
Mark Hildreth, another voice actor, tweeted a picture of Michael with the words: “Thank you for your interest in #MichaelKopsa. You had a lot of admirers. My buddy, may you rest in peace.”
